Interesting first post....

Something here is not adding up...

Is it the selling dealer that denied warranty? You purchased new? The pictures are your parts? I can't see how you could destroy a clutch that badly in 900 miles, from only driving like grandpa, it just doesn't happen.

It sure looks like one side of the clutch disk is completely gone, while the other side has friction material. That tells me it's not you, because the disk floats, and should wear (or burn up) somewhat evenly. Almost looks like it was binding / stuck on the splines.

Was hoping my first post would be more positive, but a little tough when you don't even make it 1k miles without a major failure...

Purchased new. No, it is not the selling dealer, which I'm sure is one contributing factor to warranty denial, but I don't live close to the dealer I purchased from.

I'm also shocked that could happen in 900 miles. Hence my complete disbelief that they don't consider this a manufacturer defect.

I can't see how it would happen unless someone literally did drop clutch launches for the entire 900 miles or a manufacturer defect, but again.. here we are..

Isn't 22-7005 for the Ford focus and Fiesta? kinda odd to base it off a different car, or is there a different one?

I did point out exactly that to the service advisor. The transmission and vehicles are completely different.

They just stated "that is the only thing Ford has us reference when it comes to the condition of how a clutch fails."

No, it’s specifically for all regular manual transmissions. Doesn’t have any DPS6 information in it.

I agree, something about this is not right.

… I’m guessing he pulled someone that was stuck. There are at least three threads by people trying to help a stuck vehicle.

Agreed, probably wasn't in 4 low, or the crawler gear.....perhaps used the reverse gear in 4 high. Any type of yanking while off road with the 7MT needs to be in 4 low, crawler, and preferably from the rear tow point, not the front.

Haven't even offroaded her at all, unless you count my long dirt road to my house.

If anybody ever did need a tug, I'd just do that with my F250 tremor instead 🤷‍♂️

Are you the only driver? My experience has shown clutches with multiple drivers has short lives. Not this short but shorter.
