Ford.com automatically adding $196 to purchase of trailer tow kit

I was thinking about purchasing the trailer tow kit (VS2DZ15A416C) for my 2025 Bronco and installing it myself and then hopefully being able to use Forscan to get the module to work. I went to the Ford.com website, selected the kit and it is automatically adding the $196 installation fee with no option to remove it.

Did others who have installed this kit themselves order from somewhere else?

I ordered from Tasca for our '24 WT.

There is a firmware issue with Forscan and the 2025 models. The app cannot write to all the modules to enable the TRM. I had to go to the dealer to get it enabled. My dealer only charged me $75 bucks for the programming since I did all the heavy lifting installing the kit myself.

There's a movement called right to fix, that is just about this kind of CRAP. John Deere just had to pay 99 million for locking down their software. you shouldn't have to pay ford to turn the functionality on.

I ordered mine from the parts department at my local Ford dealer. They didn't charge for the installation.
