I noticed my new Raptor was in the sun just right today to see some rippling in the front panel, almost like paint applied too thick. Is this a sign of a problem or just normal manufacturing? It's hard to capture on camera but I can feel it.

While I wish it wasn't normal, the MIC top has exhibited this trait since the release of the 6th gen Bronco. Some dealers may get you a new top, but chances are the replacement will also show it as well. The painted MOD tops are the only way I would option a hardtop Bronco/BRaptor going forward.

I don't know if all of the painted tops are white on the inside but some of the hardtops are white or black on the inside. Really glad mine's black.

As far as I know, all the painted MOD hardtops are white on the inside...wish that wasn't the case. The MIC tops are black/dark grey on the inside.

I have the same on my Raptor. When my rear section developed cracks, I thought they'd warranty the entire top. They did not, just the portion with cracks. I've not had any issues with panels that "feature" ripples and extra texture.

Not a raptor but the mics are all the same, mine has some of that wavy since new, 2 years old now and it’s remained the same, no issues yet.

Thanks for that info. The MIC top on our Badlands looks the same. I am not sure if it was like that new or I just noticed it this winter under the garage lights. The ripples almost feel like I can move them, like a layer that is not bonded completely to the underlying surface. I've chosen to not worry about it for now and if (when?) it worsens I will point it out to my dealer. I really should keep a time lapse of photos.

Been lots of ink spilled over these tops - it's unfortunate that such a great vehicle has what's really a ridiculous flaw. Feel for people who've really had bad ones.

Only 4-door painted mod tops are white on the inside. 2-door painted mod tops are black on the inside

I will say my ripples are secured to the underlying layer. I cannot press them in and they are bonded. I have lots of snakeskin elsewhere. So if your seem loose, I'd likely try to get it warrantied sooner than later.

Sounds like my ass cheeks.

Anyway my MIC top looks the same and now have hairline cracks in the rear section. 23 Braptor. Headed in for warranty work soon. Probably replace the rear panel only.
