As I wait for the tuner to arrive from Lethal I have a question. I am currently running the Burger JB4 with the stock tune. If I continue to run the JB4 after the Ford tune is installed will the JB4 build on the new Ford tune or will it revert things back to how it is with the stock tune except for keeping the new shifting strategy offered by the Ford tune?
2 completely different things. The FP tune is an actual tune that flashes the PCM.
JB4 is just something that tricks the PCM into thinking sensors are reading differently.
Both can be used together.

Yup, totally aware of the difference between a piggyback and flash tuner. I was just wondering if the JB4 will add on top of the Ford Perf. tune or just act like it is now with the stock tune.

Yes it stacks on top.
It will affect the stock tune the same as the FP tune, because it’s just intercepting sensor data

Hopefully any other people with the 2025 2.3L tune have a better time than I did getting it installed. The local Ford dealership told me it shouldn't take more than an hour, which I figured by the time the tech gets with the service writer, pulls the vehicle into the bay, yadda yadda, overall wasn't too bad.

Fast forward almost 2.5 hours later, the technician was able to register my account with the FP website and the voucher code but was not able to download the tune from the FP website to the calibration tool after using multiple different cables, laptops, etc (still don't think that testing altogether should've taken 2.5 hours but no charge). They advised me to contact FP directly to ask about possibly getting a replacement calibration tool.

I was able to get a hold of FP support surprisingly quickly and easily. They said this situation was not uncommon and had me send them the voucher number, and some other pieces of information to look into it so fingers crossed.

I also encountered difficulty. I dropped my car off and then received a call from the service manager 3 hours later asking me to come in and make a ford performance account. The service manager also didn’t know that the tune allows for reprogramming of tire size to recalibrate the speedometer and computer. I had to mention it a couple times before the service manager said he would check with the technician. Ultimately, the technician knew how to do it, so that’s good.

im going Tuesday, but im going to a dealership/shop that is heavily Ford Performance knowledgeable. I’m hoping they’re good, I’m driving two hours for this reason and it’s and hour labor vs 2-3 at dealers around me. I’m also having a sport shifter installed, so I’ll be there for 3 hours anyways lol

If they're familiar with FP stuff then you should be good. The place I went to have been great for basic stuff but when I specifically called about the FP calibration they sounded like they had no clue what it was but were happy to install it since it was a Ford part. I had heard that there can be issues with shop's wifi/internet security with this as well as it's not uncommon for the calibration tools themselves to have some sort of issue.

The annoying part at this point is I am very confident I can do this myself (15 years working in IT) so I'm basically spending the money and time for the privilege of having a note in my vehicle's service record haha.

Its a minor fee regardless and meaningless when consider an oil change costs same +/- just for materials and DIY, not to mention warranty.

Imagine the nightmares if by random chance you bricked the vehicle during upload....or worse yet your Bronco caught STD from an infected PC LOL.

Does anyone know if the 49-state tune for '25 can technically be applied to a CA vehicle? Is there any data in the computer that identifies the vehicle as CA and will block the programming?

So has anybody actually received the Ford performance tune for the 2025 2.3?

Yes, I received it two days after it came out on Wednesday. I created my account and installed it that night took about 30 minutes total.
I can’t really compare too much I just turned over 600 miles this morning. Shifts are definitely snappier. Throttle response is better.

Ordered today. Scheduled install for 03/13. I have a manual 2.3 two door sas badlands. I will follow up with what I think. Specs say more hp and torque then older 2.3 with tune. We will see.
Tuner was delayed for delivery. I had to reschedule installation for 03/27.

For the automatic transmission, does it smooth out routine shifting in the low gears or are the changes more noticeable under hard acceleration?
