6G Bronco got no soul.

I dig my 6G, it’s got power and lots of capabilities. I take it on trails and in the mud, climbing washouts and it’s a lot of fun, looks damn good also.
Some young bucks pulled up today at the light, admiring the Bronco, commenting on how cool it looked, but once there they revved up the charger and said let’s hear what she’s got. I had to pop off the “she has it off road,” the 4 banger was silent.

My 1st gen’s had 302’s and were always bored with performance cam’s and 4 barrel carbs or efi. They rumbled so sweet with that 5 liter motor.
All the wonders of these new mini turbo motors and they do deliver some big power for what they are.
But today ..

Damn the new Bronco got no soul. We need a V8.

With a nice Borla exhaust and a tune it definitely is. Mine sounds pretty good now. Not as good as my 2020 Mustang GT/CS with the factory variable exhaust but still I pretty good.

Drivability I actually have no complaints of either motor. I appreciate what they are on that front.

Meh, I get my sound kick from my Mustang. Not the Broncos job. When you say no soul, I think stuff like the Escape.

It does feel completely soul-less to drive though. I had an X5M as my daily prior to this Bronco and going back and forth between the 2 is night and day. That "small" V8 (twin turbo 4.4L) sounded amazing. Had dual 3" exhausts stock and all I changed was we chopped the huge suitcase muffler open and gutted it and just ran straight sectionsn of pipe through it, closed it back up and that was that. It sounded spectacular. Drove it as a daily for nearly 6 years and barely ever listened to music in it because it sounded so freaking good. I loved to hear it sing.

These motors will never match up that’s for sure.
I never really minded until I had nothing for the young’ns to hear today.

Well the Bronco has it all on the outside, looks, lockers, capabilities. But it’s missing something from within.
I do love it still it’s fun machine.
The escape is lacking much more than soul that’s for sure

At least the 6G has an amazing sound system and insulation so you never worry about what the engine sounds like.

This is why I at least went for the 7MT on my 6G. I can't imagine how boring the drive would be without it.

I LOVE MTs and have owned so many in my life but I had to go the exact opposite on this one. I wanted the MT, but the 2.3 is such a dud compared to the 2.7 that I couldn't stomach the driving experience. Even the 2.7 is a bit sluggish for my taste. The Raptor is a hair better but is loaded with stuff I don't want or need. I'd rather add power to the Wildtrak
