The Bronco does too, but the Coyote still actually sounds good even all on its own. Unless you have one with the typewriter sound, then it's ass, hah.

I love my '22 for where it takes me. But then again, she's not my daily driver either. To say the 6G has no soul is, I think, a bit of a stretch. It is the right engine for the right time in history.

My '72 has a 302 V-8, pretty much factory original. A holley 2 bbl replaced the motorcraft 2 bbl decades ago. She sounds like a V-8 aught to. But that 5.0l V-8 makes 149hp (according to the vin plate). Gets maybe 12 mpg. The '22's 2.7 (half the displacement) generates 330hp - that's double the hp with half the displacement - she aso gets 19mpg, so not much better than her 50-year older sister.

In todays world, is there a mass-market 'need' for a 5.0l powerplant in a Bronco? The simple answer is no, modern tech gave us a better mousetrap, hands down. For the purist, they will always want tradition. Corporate has to base their build decisions on what sells to the masses - not the purist - so we will never see a 5.0 offered in a 6G or 7G bronco.


My 6G absolutely has a soul - just not tied to 50 year old technology.

I think my BRaptor does not sound bad downshifting in sport mode. Someone was telling me I will have my BRaptor until a V8 comes, then it's gone. Nah.....I do not need a V8 Braptor.

My V6 3.0 tuned is doing fine. As others have said, I have a 68 Mustang with a built 351w for my V8 sound fix.

The problem these days is so many modern (Ford, GM, BMW, ...) "great sounding cars" use gimmicks like Active Sound Design to sound good. (old guy mode) Back in the old days, our hot rod cars didn't have or need fake engine exhaust sounds.
