Taking Bronco in for static coming from left rear speaker. I didn't hear it until I installed an amplifier and new speakers. I tested to make sure it was not my wiring or the amp by bypassing the amp and rewiring and static remained. I also tested with the original speaker and no amp. I had to put the speaker up to my ear and turn it up to hear the static.

It's not impossible you blew the crappy stock speakers if you hooked an amplifier up to them, I'd be surprised if those stock speakers could handle more than 10 or 15w.

How long is the ground wire for your amp?

There’s no way they are going to cover anything with warrantee at this point.

Good luck.

Edit: sorry, also reread it. You’ll be fine.

Nope not what happened. The static is there regardless of what speaker is connected to with amp and without.

Once a speaker is blown it doesn't matter what you hook it up to.

Sounds( no pun) like your sync 4 amp is causing your noise. Guessing your new amp is speaker level which is amplifying everything including noise.

I don't think you'd get static from just one specific speaker if that was the case.

Personally I'd suggest the OP switch the front speakers (left to right, vice versa) and if the static follows the speaker, it's definitely the speaker.

You could easily have one channel affected, perhaps a bad OPA or other component. Is the noise there with the car running or off? What kind of noise is it, does it change pitch or constant. If I read OP’s post correctly they’ve already tried different speakers. The fact that when they bypass new equipment and have to turn up volume and place the speaker next to their ear to hear it makes me think that under normal circumstances the noise would not be heard. My belief and of course I could wrong is that, again they’re amplifying the noise with after market amp.

Tracking “noise“ in a circuit can be real bitch.

Static is there without any amplification regardless of the speaker (new or original) that is connected to that stereo output (left rear). Also connected other speakers and noise follows it. Noise is there when Bronco on or off, volume up or down. Noise stops when stereo is turned off. No other stereo output has the same issue. (Speakers not blown. Original speakers never connected to the amp.)

thanks for feedback, will post response when I hear back from service

Couple inches from the stereo harness. Also tested with other harness female pins and speaker cables and got same static.

Dumb question but did you try disconnecting battery? If the APIM is cooked this won't fix it but if it does, then it's just a software malfunction.

Yeah disconnected it several times as part of my troubleshooting and didn't correct it.
