Stabar disconnect price

I don't find any OEM Bronco parts listed on the net yet but was wondering what the stabar disconnect would cost.

I found a comparable MOPAR version for $2300

If I add $2300 to my Black Diamond build that puts me within a $1000 of a BL build (both SAS, 2.7 and mid package). For that extra $1000 I get a sway bar that works with the Ford PCM and the "signature LED lighting". Looks like I am changing to the BL

You want to change TO the signature lighting? I think the non fancy lighting looks best.

Not necessarily. I was just saying that was what the extra 1k was going for if I get a BL or a BD

I'm sure there will be a manual disconnect that is super cheap. just hop out when you get to the trail and pull the pins.

Wise move. going stock with the Ford options buys you a rig that would cost way more to customize your way to on any platform. If I wasn't such a dilettante old fart, I would go Badlands for rock-climbing, Wildtrack for just driving rallies.

Sounds like a PIA if you are going from paved roads to off road multiple times a day. You also have to tie it up with bungees as well every time. You also gotta be on level ground and hope you can easily get the pins back in.. Then if it's snowing and been rainy everything is coated with mud or snow. Sounds like the stabar disco is worth the money..

You can add manual sway bar disconnects to a Jeep for 100 bucks... I wonder if the Bronco will allow for that, not sure if it’s possible on an IFS, might just have to take the entire sway bar out, not as convenient, hope I’m wrong. Because I can only afford the base.

Sounds like a PIA if you are going from paved roads to off road multiple times a day. You also have to tie it up with bungees as well every time. You also gotta be on level ground and hope you can easily get the pins back in.. Then if it's snowing and been rainy everything is coated with mud or snow. Sounds like the stabar disco is worth the money..

Well yea if that's your typical day then it sounds like a Badlands is worth it.

For the occasional offroader pulling the pins on the sway isn't that complicated.

This is a BIG question for many of us. That particular disco sway bar you posted is the factory Rubicon part, and don't know that it can be added to anything else. There are unanswered questions about disconnecting the Bronco non-disco sway bar. One thing, if it can be safely done it is much harder to get to the links than it is on a Jeep. Also, I have been told that there are two problems with removing the links on the sway bar. The sway bar bushings are vulcanized to the bar, so only removing the link on one side could be problematic, and the end of the arm of a freely moving sway bar can contact and tear the axle CV boot.

We really need more good info on this subject, now that people are getting and using their Broncos. 4WP's has an aftermarket auto disco sway bar product for Jeeps. It would be nice if this design can be built for the Bronco. I was told that it is currently not on the table for them to build this for the Bronco, but have to wait and see if they decide to offer it.

For me, the big question isn't between the BD or the BL, that seems an easier question, it's between a Basesquatch or a non-squach Badlands. If you order Basesquatch with the HD front bumper, then the only skid plate you don't get is the t-case and rock rails, which can be added aftermarket or buy the factory parts. The steel factory rear bumper isn't a big deal, really don't even need it and aftermarket ones are better. So, it ends up being a good amount of money to get the factory stabar, which is a real good thing to have. Damn, why are they making it so tough to decide.

Most of the times i offroad I’m on dirt for hours and hours. I can’t imagine a senario where I’m going from pavement to trailhead every hour. Sounds like ADHD off-roading

I'll bet the factory stabar will never be able to be added later. It's hydraulically operated, so needs plenty of hoses and fittings and the electrical harness and control ECM. I really want it, but I also want the $6k difference in price from Basesquatch to do other things with. We'll see. Have to see how much money I have by the time the Bronco actually gets built and just do the SAS BL.

If you are going Sas. The disco is a fun feature, but doesn't add a lot of extra utility. It's most useful if you don't have full lockers and need as many wheels on the ground as possible. With front and rear lockers lifting a wheel might feel disconcerting, but it's almost never going to imped your progress on the trail. The great irony of the way Ford packaged it, is that the non sas BD would probably be the trim that would benefit the most from a disco.

With front and rear lockers lifting a wheel might feel disconcerting, but it's almost never going to imped your progress on the trail. The great irony of the way Ford packaged it, is that the non sas BD would probably be the trim that would benefit the most from a disco.

Ride is smoother and less tippy. Both make it well worth it
