Has anyone at the ride events ridden in one with the top retracted? Does it create loud noise or parachute or collect bug debris like that while going a reasonable speed?

For people who need hard tops: Why not just save ~$695 (and untold months waiting for Ford) on your 4D build and try to buy a hard top aftermarket?
I want a white hardtop to go with my cactus grey build. When I found out it wouldn't be available at launch, I made my peace with the decision to go soft and find a white top later.

No connections for rear wiper if you order soft top only at build.
After playing with both, I'm planning to order dual tops. Debating the MIC or the black painted (or maybe body color painted, if they offer that). I'll be a MY22, anyway.

I'd be pretty ok without a wiper (the rear camera looks great), but shouldn't it be pretty easy to add the necessary wiring/hose?

Possibly going to snag a mesh mimini top to go with the hardtop.
Honestly if a fully fixed steel roof was an option we would have gone that route.

I will go w/ the soft top. Looks like the hard top problem is pretty crappy and even if they increase production It will still be backed up. I can just get a hardtop from Ford or aftermarket. Don't really care about the hookups for the wiper, de-icer etc. Looks like you can barely see out the back window anyway. I already have a solution to getting a great view behind me without even needing that crap. Was going to use my solution with the hard top anyway
I ordered a BB 4dr with a soft top for three reasons:
1. I'm on a budget because I hate monthly payments. I nickel-and-dimed my build until $700 was a deal-breaker.
2. I like the convenience of being able to go up or down with it on the fly.
3. In 6 months someone will put a step-by-step DIY washer and wiper connection install on this site. And if not, I'll have to live without the three-inch section of visible back glass. Maybe I'll make it.
But it won't matter anyway, because my transmission will shatter pulling out of the driveway and my touchscreen will short circuit because I'm holding my coffee instead of putting it in the non-existent cup holders. As it spills all over my dash I will be cursing Ford for the narrow elbow rest.

My brother had a Wrangler and once he got it he went no top most of the time. So a soft top would be fine for him.
But it is hard to know what you will do untill you have a bronco.
If you plan to have the top up most of the time then a hard top is the way to go.
Order the top you want and then wait a few extra weeks and be happy.
