The May email to the original reservation holder should have an order cancellation link if they do not want (or did not order) the vehicle. Cancelling the order before the build should nullify the dealer getting their hands on it. Simple solution.
Not just a simple solution, but the right one.
No doubt some these dealer harvested orders could jump ahead of real orders.

I don't agree. I had two reservations. I ordered a 2021, and pushed the second reservation to 2022. On my Fordpass account, both show as "orders." So I think the conversion ratio includes people who haven't requested their deposit back.

What if the dealer let you get ahead of everyone for some extra dough. Would you do it?

I don't quite get the animosity towards some people getting their Bronco first if their willing to pay for it. There are so many examples of in society of people paying for priority or privilege. Or people just buying something to flip it to the next guy for a profit.

Ford seems to have caused a lot of angst with this reservation system where people have a "place in line". Anytime you ordered cars in the past, they just showed up when they were ready. There was never seeing yourself as ahead of or behind someone.

A lot of the comments on B6G remind me of that George Carlin routine about traffic. The people driving slower than you are morons and the people driving faster than you are assholes. :D
What you are talking about is like the Fast Pass at the amusement park. It's really just a money-making scam, but the difference is everyone knows going in what the deal is. You had a chance to buy a Fast Pass when you bought your ticket. Letting anyone cut in line at this point is screwing over people who waited. Maybe if on reservation day there was a checkbox that said, $5,000 non-refundable deposit in additional to dealer-negotiated price to get you at the front of the line. :)

No I think your MY22 was put in as a priority 99 order.
But who really knows but the bean counters at Ford

IIRC Ford is pushing Big Bend builds so they will get them faster with fewer constraints.
I think that was just a random person personally speculating on which builds they thought would make sense to go first. All I've heard through official channels is that initial production will be all four-doors for some time. Even then, that time wasn't specific. A week? A month? Not known. So I would take anything said about specific models being prioritized with more than a grain of salt. Maybe a teaspoon of salt.

My main point was to just chill about it. It ain't the end of the world. :D

How many of these were dealerships converting orders without the customer's consent?
My dealership called / emailed to confirm. I told them that I'm waiting on '22MY - they then asked if they could convert. I agreed. Can't wait!

3 months or so ago I was 159/150 (my spot/dealer allocations). So even though I had a 2nd day reservation (I know, WTF?!) it looked like I would not get a MY2021.
Fast forward to today, I am not 113/150 so I am definitely getting a MY2021.
Doing the math, and applying it generally to all of my dealers reservations, 46 people of the 158 people ahead of me, 29 % did not respond/deferred to MY 22, or cancelled. That means 71% DID complete their order, fairly high. This is in southern Kalifornia not sure if that means much to nationwide averages.

Thanks for sharing. Great for Ford but higher than many here expected. So, with 190k reservations this means about 126k converted. If we assume 66k reservations made in MY21 then that leaves Ford with 60k reservations to make for MY22. Thought somewhere we saw that 30% of reservations were made in first week and 30% of 190k is 57k so basically first week reservations are most likely to get a MY21.
So,,, it looks good for a MY21 with a Timestamp of 7/17/20 & Order date 1/20/21?

I think people are extrapolating that from the Ford communique to the dealership about which items are constrained and which are free to build. For whatever reason, Ford specifically chose to add Big Bend to the free and clear list.

I’m guessing the 2-door is listed due to the standard hard top

Sorry if this has been answered, but I have scoured through the threads and can't figure this out. What exactly does the dealer's allocation mean? Is that the number of Broncos a given dealer will receive this year or something else? I am number 23 of 36 at my dealer and an 8/14 reservation. I expect that my relatively late reservation means I'll be waiting a while, but then being within my dealer's initial allocation must mean something, right?
