Basically killed any consumer interest in diesel unless you tow, a lot.

The greenies HATE diesel here in the US. Which is strange as in Europe diesel is seen as being green due to its higher mpg compared to gas engines.

I would actually be ok with that cab/bed combo on the 4dr wheelbase (longer between the door and wheelwell) for a little longer bed…closer to a real truck…

Having had the new ranger first I thought it would have been better in the Bronco form. The Ranger is a world car, but a medium sized truck for small people, most of us are not small people and the bronco cab is a better fit, taller roof, more back seat leg room etc.

More commonality of parts one more vehicles will make fixing things cheaper and easier to fix like the F-series trucks. It's more legit then the Sport or other things they might try to do. Jeep and Gladiator people co-exist, so why can't we?

Just teasing since even though I really liked the rendering, I can't argue with your statement, and yes I do have the top on and back seats in my 2 door bronco.

Let’s be honest, a small percent of buyers will be camping with these trucks. Instead they want something that looks cool and can drive over the curb at Starbucks. I joke, but that’s really the truth.

That's why I had one then another extended-cab pickup with 6'+ beds and camper shells for decades. DD plus camping and wheeling plus occasional hauling. The beds were usually long enough, but now and then I wished I had a longer bed.

To me, a 5'-minus short bed on a truck is only for odds and ends. I was considering a 4g Tacoma crew cab with short bed. The bed would have had a diamondback cover and would have housed the spare tire plus tools and emergency gear. Got a Bronco instead and I'm very happy with it.

It's why single cabs aren't popular with the populace.
Single cab trucks are 3% overall of sales and I'll guess that means 1% to the populace and 2% to fleet.
If you all don't have a single cab truck now...what makes you want one with such a maniacally stupid bed on some speculation of a possible bronco 1% vehicle?

Bronco, per averages can expect 1% sales of that truck and NO FLEET in their right mind to buy one.

It is a status symbol “cool” vehicle for mall crawling and tossing some beach gear in the back. And that will sell a lot of vehicles if marketed correctly.

If you want a real truck for towing, hauling plywood, and bringing your 2 kids along then you’ll buy an F-150. If you want something fun to drive and not for hauling kids then you’re the demographic for a 2dr short bed Bronco.
