I am considering installing the Rock Krawler 4 link suspension but I keep reading about side movement and interference issues. I’ve actually paid a deposit and am waiting for the parts backorder. I’m getting cold feet. Is it worth it? Should I cancel?

I think it depends on what you do most with your Bronco. I would expect extreme articulation rock crawling to get significantly better, but on-road handling to get worse. But what do I know. @SierraBronco may have some words of wisdom here.

You can't just @SierraBronco, ya gotta summon Portal Jesus. "By the power of gear reduction and lifted axles, I summon thee - Portal Jesus, rise from your block snatches and guide young (checks thread) @mutterranch on his way to off road wonderment!!" I hear if you open up some Ostrim beef sticks and wave them around it helps, too.

With the gas tank being in the way, the upper links are “semi-triangulated” and you do lose some axle control with the panhard deleteThe lateral axle movement when wheeling is real, but the amount of said movement will be the result of the rest of your components. If you get the PB&J lower links that allow for much higher misalignment, that will contribute. Aftermarket coilovers with more travel and spherical bearings will allow further movement of the setup. When we had Rock Krawler coilovers designed for the factory mounting locations and PB&J links, the driveshaft just kissed the Next Venture gas tank skid plate mount when articulated. Got a double cardan driveshaft and fixed that issue. Not sure whether the stock driveshaft would have hit the stock gas tank mounts or not.

My buddy with the 4link put longer travel RK coilovers on the back. Flexes like crazy and performs very well on the trail, but his driveshaft actually rubs against the gas tank even with the smaller diameter Adam’s Driveshaft propshaft driveshaft driveline.

I thought the on-road handling improved with the 4-link kit 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is it blasphemy if I don’t believe in myself?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I'm going with the Icon stage 4 kit instead.

AI says long travel is superior and to stack wheel spacers

(maybe joking. Wonder where AI would pick up something like that from)
me-asks AI *an* question

AI-gives me my own posts as the answer

but yes, the answer is always long travel and wheel spacers. I might take mine off now with the 38’s. We’ll see.

I rather like the 4-link you are looking at. Not for me, but looks like it should work good.
