Limp mode for an add on feature that it does not even need to operate safely. That’s a problem that doesn’t need to exist.
Ive never regretted not having that feature, to many complaints about its reliability.
sorry man, that would rub me raw also.
With the truck’s high center of gravity, an evasive there’s a greater chance of a rollover without a sway bar. Ford has been through that once with the Explorer. They ain’t going there again.

Sounds like you made the decision to dump the Bronco If you have to persuade yourself to buy an extended warranty in effort to keep the Bronco
The extended warranty is not a warranty but more like insurance. It doesn't cover any parts that are plastic, leather, rubber ETC. if you use the warranty you have to pay a deductible. I purchased 2 warranties in my life from Ford and I lost both times. That's including on my 2015 F150 with 220k mileage. You would be money ahead putting that warranty money in a Sans&P 500d index fund then use it for repairs
Don't remember my mod 2000s Mustangs doing that, but they never had weird parts fail either.

Never had this problem in the 60's when the clutch was completely mechanical. I see no reason a clutch should be hydraulic in the first place.
Hydraulic clutches are used partly for packaging reasons. It’s pretty crowded under the hood on most modern vehicles, and it’s easier to route a hydraulic line than to fit in a z-bar and push rods for a mechanical clutch.

I used to never get extended warranties... but just opening up the hood on my Bronco V6 and seeing all the hoses, the engine, the twin turbos, and the transmission/xfer case buried underneath... I decided it was worth the extra dollars for the peace-of-mind.

So far... so good.

I knew the sway bar was trouble when l first read about it. My Base has no issues after almost 5 years of daily city driving. I avoid as many options as possible.

I got the 7yr/100,000 extended for my '21. Now Im thinking maybe I should have gotten 10! Hopefully the 200 recalls will take care of anything major.

When the release a decent 2-door soft top I'll think about it. Bestop finally has a $5k 2-dr etop, but no thanks.

An extended warranty is a good idea. With all the electronic gadgets, turbo, complicated trans, it's good insurance.

My wife has a 2019 Expedition. The cam phasers failed right before the warranty expired, got lucky there. Not so lucky with the trans which failed about 2K miles AFTER the warranty expired. After some complaining and begging, Ford agreed to cover 50% of the trans cost. So we were still out of pocket for around $4K. After paying for that, my wife and I agree that we will get the extended warranty for future vehicles.

I'm likely going to lease a Bronco in about a month. If I buy it after the lease, I will get the warranty.

Just dropped it off at the dealer again.

I have a 23 Badlands that I bought new. I’ve had it for less than two years and it only has 18k miles.

So far it’s on its second hard top for cracking, 4-5 recalls, the doors needed to be realigned due to chipping paint, the rear tailgate had the rattle (dealer couldn’t figure it out and wanted to replace the entire swing gate. Fixed myself in 10 mins), and now it’s getting its sway bar actuator replaced under a TSB.

I’ve had Fords my entire life, but this is ridiculous

Reach out to Granger Motors, Inc., they have been very competitive with ESP warranties

Been really disappointed with BESTOP warranty and customer service - nice tops, not cheap but no customer service.

Yeah, I really miss all the flaping at highway speeds, the foggy scratched windows and then when the windows crack. Folding them up when they are full of mud is an experiance too. Zipping up the zippers at -10 deg with ice and snow is one of the best parts of soft tops, not to mention the big dollars to replace them every five years or so. 50 years with a CJ5 with a ragtop convinced me that my Bronco would have a hard top.

Agree with this. I have a soft top on my trail Jeep. Had to replace the top about 5 years ago. Plus I've replaced the uppers (doors) 3 times now.

I should be getting a Bronco in about a month. Figure I'll get the hard top and have a mesh top under it since the panels are easy to remove.

I’m 52 years old. My Bronco is my 20th vehicle in my life. Of the 20, 7 were German with one of them still with me at 100k miles now. If I totalled up the repair bills (not maintenance) of all of them that I incurred outside of warranty, it would be slightly more than the cost to purchase the extended warranty coverage for this Bronco. If you just take care of it, enjoy it but don’t abuse it, it should be just fine. I typically keep a car to about 100k, but nowadays 100k isn’t that much anymore.

Just take care of it. Oil changes every 5k-6k, transmission every 30k, good gas, let it warm up before getting on it, etc…
