Hello fellow Bronco enthusiasts. As the title suggests, I recently installed the FP Procal tune on my 25 Badlands, 2.7 (no sport goat mode). I like it. But still feels laggy and squishy pedal, could better spark plugs help? I bought a set of Ford Performance Cold plugs and gapped them at 0.028, but I've held off installing....any advice? Thanks

Not necessary, but if you want to install them... sure.

The Ford Performance tune is a very mild/safe tune.

Personally I always felt the turbos on the 2.7L were on the slow side too, but this is coming from driving a 2.7L F-150 around. Not sure if the tuning is different on the Bronco or not.

I did get a set from Lethal on a Black Friday sale - i can say the idle was a lot smoother, but I didn’t really notice any change in mileage or power. I swapped from OEM after 50k miles. The factory plugs looked fine though.

Most folks say to get the Ruthenium ones if you are going to splurge though - they will last longer.

On the laggy squishy pedal… might consider a Banks Pedal Monster. On the BRaptor 3.0, the pedal felt slow as well. Recently installed pair of iBanks and Monster Pedal. Made a strong significant improvement in throttle behavior and it’s set to lower Sport setting, which isn’t the most aggressive.

Pulling away from stop signs, or simply small accelerations… feel much better.

Although, it also increased the highway downshift sensitivity behavior… since it’s essentially just raising the throttle response curve, tranny also responds with downshifts easier. That may be a negative to some.

You can always add Sport Mode with Forscan.

I went a step colder, but as others noted the FP tune is mild and they are not required.

Adding sport mode makes it a lot of fun though. More responsive by a bunch

On the 3.0 Raptor… ProCal: noticed an improvement but not as expected… I thought a 50hp gain would be more noticeable. The Tranny I noticed more change than engine.

Personally, I wouldn't describe the 2.7 turbos as laggy, but my bench mark is some big turbo DSM cars in the 90's and 00's.

I will say that when I swapped to the Full-Race front mount, I noticed better response from the turbos. I think it just flows so much better than the stock intercooler that acts a bottleneck.

So for my clarification, what spark plug and heat range is suggested? Specifically for the 3.0L Raptor. I’m seeing many use other than Ford OEM.

On my 2.7, I used the NGK ones recommended by ZFG (Set of 6 NGK LTR7BHX (95605) Spark Plug) but I don’t know what they recommend for the 3.0.

Exactly what I run on my 2.7. Easy order and pregapped. Always check it because some auto shops and Amazon seem to dunk these on your porch delivery.

Do you know what they are pre gapped too? 0.028 or 0.030?
