well the fist time you flash and it does some of the crazy lights and dash antics, I shit myself….
really wish I had done it sooner. Was always fun to drive but the tune took it to a new level. Yes I know, this isn’t a drag car. Having the ass end to throw 24lbs boost and gap a ram getting on...
I’d say 15min sounds about right. Supposedly the flash tune is faster now but haven’t tried it out.
I’m in a rich 93 octane area of Texas but swapping over is super handy for road trips where higher octane moves between 89-93. I’d say you can probably get that with either tuner, but might just...
ZFG is my tuner
As mentioned I got both the 93 and auto-octane tune. Easy switch between, but you just have to keep the RTD4 updated before each flash. I did purchase the extra credit to do so.
As for the downshift issue, someone else may need to comment. I know my sport mode is effectively a...
10k miles on ZFG as well. No complaints. Full compliment of mods. Swap between 93-Performance and Auto-Octane depending on which National parks I’m trying to visit. Runs like a scalded cat as needed.
So what I got from ZFG:

Hi Thomas,
SYNC updates typically don’t interfere with the tune – whether to leave OTA updates enabled is 100% personal preference, and for what it’s worth we leave them enabled on our personal vehicles.
Here’s what to do in case Over-The-Air (OTA) updates overwrite...
Ford is pushing an update — does this break current 2.7L tunes or is it infotainment only?
First time pushing an update post ZFG tune. I expect to be able to flash back but read somewhere it could lock out the tuner.
That might be what I feel when I slow down or have soft acceleration in sport mode. I did ask for the old sport mode to be the new regular, and sport mode to be the new drag launch from nasa, so…
i can say there’s no funky shift in my regular mode from ZFG, so he probably already got that kink...
I will be there the week of November 10th. I'll reply back with worthy notes from comments above and any updates to closures.
The main parks page and onX will tell you the road closures, for what that is worth. The latter does require a subscription.
Big Bend National Park (U.S. National...
I really appreciate the advice, from both of you — super helpful perspective.
Trip is planned/booked to be there early November, so hopefully some of it reopens.
When I took mine through the bring-your-own-Bronco course at Horseshoe Bay, I aired down to about 18 PSI, which made sense there...
I’m running 35×12.50R17 Mickey Thompson Baja Legend MTZs on Method 703 bead-grip wheels and planning a trip out to Big Bend. Most of the trails look like packed dirt with some scattered rocks and mild crawling.
I know 18 PSI is about as low as I’d ever go, but I’m curious:
• What PSI are...
late to the party and just swapped from a K&N to this injen kit. Any issues with water? I ask as there’s no drain hole at all.
I guess you also need to remove half the system to change out a filter?
thx in advance!
