New 2.7 Update - Info only?? 1-25-26

Ford is pushing an update — does this break current 2.7L tunes or is it infotainment only?

First time pushing an update post ZFG tune. I expect to be able to flash back but read somewhere it could lock out the tuner.

I just saw the update go through today. Notes say it was improvements to Sync to improve stability and screen mirroring, along with security updates.

What GoHawks said. Disabled auto updates and got the note on the infotainment and saw this in the app.

Usually means it'll make sync work a little better, or a little worse. 50/50

I got this 10.1.0 update last July. It does not effect the tune. At least not the FP tune. That's what I have.

Only PCM updates can change a tune. And those as OTA updates are very rare

Could be anything really. There is a Bluetooth exploit making its rounds right now. Could be a fix for that. Or any of the other components that are installed.

Usually they don't publish what security issue they are fixing as disclosure could lead to more people wanting to exploit it.

SYNC updates typically don’t interfere with the tune – whether to leave OTA updates enabled is 100% personal preference, and for what it’s worth we leave them enabled on our personal vehicles.

Here’s what to do in case Over-The-Air (OTA) updates overwrite your custom tune with a new "stock tune":

Read & sync the new stock tune (READ VEHICLE)

Re-apply your custom tune

Note: If your existing tunes don’t flash, please submit a Tune Request and briefly explain what happened in the comments, noting that your existing tunes won’t flash.


Note: Some updates may require purchase of a Tune Update — this is rare but not excluded from possibility. Adam will indicate if this is required in his reply to the Tune Request.”

Thought I’d still post to the forum, waiting for this reply, as many of you have helped in one situation or another.
