I guess slightly less slow is worth the reliability and convenience trade off.I mean I like more power no matter the vehicle.

Yeah it's a smaller engine but the reality is that it's only 0.4L smaller. We aren't talking major displacement difference.Actually it was indeed a big part of the 6.0's problem.
The lesser horsepower IH versions lived long happy lives.
But yes there was the harness chafing issue (our 2004 was bought back for what they didn't know until later was the chafing). Plus then they discovered that the overflow caps weren't up to the task and came out with an improved version.
To say nothing of the affect of buyers throwing another 100+ tune on top of the Ford factory one had
As too the 2.3 that is why I only gave it a passing glance. I don't need the squirrels having an early heart attack just so the engine can pretend to be the 2.7.
It's not like this is a Mustang being hopped up for racing. It is a smaller engine in a truck being crutched to make it perform the same as a larger one that can't be ordered.
If we have to explain Smiles Per Gallon to a grown man at this point in time, it doesn't seem like something you'll ever understand.I guess I don't get it...
You're adding horsepower to a poor handling and braking vehicle that with the gain is still slow compared to whatever else is on the road.
With the added bonus of fuel complications and diminished reliability? Not even mentioning warranty issues?
In the mean time, grandma one lane over in her stock 2026 Rav4 GR Hybrid hits 0-60 in 5.1 secs...
Wheeee I am going a little bit faster! Hold on a sec, why is Mildred in her RaV4 blowing my doors off?If we have to explain Smiles Per Gallon to a grown man at this point in time, it doesn't seem like something you'll ever understand.
I don't think anybody says it's the fastest vehicle on the road or plans on racing it. Even a raptor is a snail in the modern vehicle world. But MOAR power is always better than less power. Also, why are you racing old ladies?Wheeee I am going a little bit faster! Hold on a sec, why is Mildred in her RaV4 blowing my doors off?
I get my smiles per gallon by driving over ish.
On the smaller end of engine size spectrum that 0.4 makes a BIG difference and pulling an extra 100 HP out of one stresses everything.Yeah it's a smaller engine but the reality is that it's only 0.4L smaller. We aren't talking major displacement difference.
Not much to smile about after getting beaten off the line at a stoplight by a soccer mom in a hybrid. If we have to explain Smiles Per Gallon to a grown man at this point in time, it doesn't seem like something you'll ever understand.
Why not? It’s still more fun than having a stock broncoNot much to smile about after getting beaten off the line at a stoplight by a soccer mom in a hybrid.
Should have bought the V6 than instead of throwing money out trying to crutch the smaller engineWhy not? It’s still more fun than having a stock bronco![]()
Well I won’t disagree with that, which is why I got a 2.7 lolShould have bought the V6 than instead of throwing money out trying to crutch the smaller engine
It's like bragging how fast your Harley is in a group of crotch rocket riders.
I'M SORRY, WHAT?!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU, MY V8 KEEPS FARTING!!! SOUNDS GREAT DOESN'T IT!! WHAT WERE WE TALKING ABOUT??I guess I don't get it...

Mine is pretty quickI guess slightly less slow is worth the reliability and convenience trade off.
One's a V and one's an inline. More of a difference there than the displacement. As someone already stated though, the smaller the displacement the more a small change makes. The 2.7 was designed from the get go to be turbocharged, hence the different block casting.Yeah it's a smaller engine but the reality is that it's only 0.4L smaller. We aren't talking major displacement difference.
