Then you are on track. If you drove a Bronco and it wasn't too loud inside or too truck like, then you'll likely love it. Get that thing off road with the doors and roof off, the Bronco is unbelievably fun....and something you can't do in 4Runner. With the doors and roof off, people actually talk to me at stop lights. That is kind of refreshing stepping out of the typical metal boxes most people live in.

Two years of ownership and I just spent the last three days driving my Bronco to Eugene OR and back, then out on trails all day yesterday....and I couldn't wait to get back in my Bronco today.

For 2023 a 4-door Badlands weighs 352 pounds more than a Wildtrack with the same engine and transmiission. Badlands 5,109 pounds, Wildtrack 4,757 pounds.

Yet the Wildtrack comes with 35" tires, the Badlands 33" tires. I admit part of the weight is the sway bar disconnect but the skid plates add a lot.

so after work I swung by the dealer and tested a big bend (bb) and a badlands (v6). The badlands seemed to be noticeably heavier with the bigger motor, steel bumpers, lift, bigger tires ect. and the corner sway was more noticeable as well. I understand that a certain amount of on-tarmac sway comes with the bronco. Both looked fantastic. Seems there are deals going on through the months end so need to try em again this weekend.

I've got a 2022 Outer Banks with just about all the options. Big engine, transfer case upgrade, leather seats, 12-inch screen, and so on. The only downside is that she doesn't look nearly as cool as most of the other Broncos I see on the road. Zero Tonka toy effect on the Outer Banks.

However - those 18" wheels with the all-weather tires and no extra lift mean that I have a lower CG and plenty of traction going through all those round-abouts. Only time my Bronco will see offroad is when we get snow here in the Snoqualmie Valley. I am confident that she'll get me home up Big Rock Road, past all those abandoned Lexus and Prius cars. I don't expect to have to wind around any Subarus, as they will have made it up the hill also.

Once in a while we go on a road trip that involves some tricky situations. Oh yeah - like the time we drove up from our motel in Government Camp to the Timberline Lodge. Easy-peasy on the way up. After dinner the parking lot was covered in ice. My wife and I slippy slid our way from the lodge to our Bronco. I fired her up. Selected "slippery" mode and locked the rear diff. Put her in R. NO SWEAT. We backed outta our spot and headed back down the hill. Unlocked the rear diff and Charlie Mike.

So I ordered and bought an Outer Banks and I have zero regrets.

I'm going to be seriously considering the FILSON next year. With the luxury options, glass, reduced noise, etc and it being more overland vs rock, etc. I would take a look at that also if you don't care about $$$

As a loaded 2DR Badlands owner, I can’t understand why anyone would spend Badlands money and not be planning some serious off-road time. I guess people spend cosmetic money on vehicles all the time, but the trims don’t really look any different. It’s just tires. Save the money you’d spend on functionality you won’t use and waste it on other stuff like nice camping gear and tasty lunch spots.

Gonna be plush, and pricey. But hey, we’re worth it, right?!

I have a Black Diamond and it satisfies everything I do. I find it great for a weekend warrior. Rear locker, skid plates and sliders are plenty for most people. I did find the stock tires to be a bit small and I dragged belly a couple times so I put it on 35’s but realistically you can do a lot on 33’s and you don’t have to lift it. When I did my research before buying, the black diamond trim was the best bang for your buck.

35s on that M190 front end may lead to problems down the road. That's where the Badlands has the advantage - you can go up to 35s without overstressing the front axle, CVs, or steering.

That was something I was aware of when I purchased it. If or when it goes I will be replacing with an M210 FDU with the same 4.46 gears and wire the locker to one of the overhead switches. But a good thing to point out for OP. Also, Ford puts their upgraded steering system on all Sasquatch models now too. So far I haven’t any issues with the M190 FDU and 35’s but it is one of the biggest reasons I didn’t go 37’s.

This is what I don't get with all the BD advise (not the old BD trim), you are paying 2/3 of price of the Sas package, and not getting half the package. The rear locker was a no-brainer when it was a $800, not so much when it's now $4500.
