I'm curious why no manufacturer has made bolt on replacement fenders for the raptor... jeeps have all kinds of different bolt on flare/fender options. Seems to me like there would be a market for different style fenders that don't require going to full fiberglass (ADV/fiberwerx)... utilizing the factory mounting locations just with different style (rise, length, square vs. round, etc...) and design options. Is there something I'm missing that makes going full fiberglass the only option?

The removed flares have a really odd-shaped footprint left behind. So that is probably the reason there.
Although some are cutting the Raptor flares. I've heard talk about it in my local group but haven't seen the final result.
As far as fenders, yeah, no one offers anything up other than the usual fiberglass aftermarket offerings. At least, not yet.
I'm fairly pleased with my ADV's I got 2nd hand. I would have probably opted for a larger flare-out but at the price it is what it is. At full MSRP on those I definitely was not in the customer base.

IMO it’s a limited market. You can only do so much with the design. And most aftermarket parts like bumpers are tubes or flat stock pieces just welded together. Cheap and easy. Aftermarket can’t invest in stamping forms or custom molds or they would. The few plastic ones for non Raptor look like crap.

I think you are right... but I can't help but think someone more creative than me could come up with SOME option outside of just full replacement of the whole fender. Dropping 2k on front/rear fiberglass ones and another ~2k on paint... that puts them at the bottom of the mod list. If there was a black plastic/fiberglass or metal option for 1k or something... I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Maybe I'll find someone with a 3d printer and mock up some designs lol.

Maybe not germane, but the painted fenders on the newew ones obviate the issue entirely in my opinion. I have seen the fender when they're off and @broadicustomworks is right, the pattern they leave where they attach is funky. I do find it a little surprising, though, that it hasn't been offered yet by someone.

Those fenders are definitely one of the polarizing design elements of the Raptor that probably end up losing some customers. It would not surprise me to see Ford evolve them going forward. Body-matched paint definitely helps, but the overall shape is still funky. Even the R Bronco by Multimatic looks subtle in comparison.

They just look like an afterthought. Even painted. Paint does help though. That's where this thread came from really. I'm looking at dropping the money for paint on factory fenders (that still look a little funky to me) or dropping a lot of money for full fiberglass... I feel like there should be some sort of middle ground but there isn't.

The rear fender looks so much better... but obviously it's a racetruck.

I believe this started as a Bronco, not a Raptor, but these aftermarket fiberglass ones are probably the best, aesthetically. I think this guy is on here? @Elonmsk

They still look a bit crazy, but better than OEM Raptor, for sure.

Howdy. I’m not active here any longer and deleted the content I posted on this board, vibe changed and folks are overly confrontational. Feel free to ping me on IG if you ever have any questions, always happy to help.

Cheers,
Clay
