Just finished installing the brand new @Diode Dynamics 10" Chase Light Bar, purchased from Adam @4x4TruckLEDs.com

I'm super impressed so far.
I previously had a @Turn Offroad chase light/3rd brake light, but I wasn't satisfied with the finish & quality of that product

I did end up keeping their bracket to go from the tire carrier to the 3rd brake light area
Then I modified a pair of generic brackets I had left from something else by drilling a few holes to interface with the Turn bracket

From there it was pretty simple for wiring, because I already had a light with the same functions, so I just removed that harness & cut my wires & remade connections with the 4 pin deutch connecter that come with the Diode kit.

It is nice that they give you a small pigtail, then a good length of cable & then the other pigtail is already connected to the light.
So if you need to remove it for some reason, you can disconnect at two different points.

I'd say the only downside is the small stylus you use to change the light patterns is easy to lose.
(Ask me how long I searched the garage & still couldn't find it)
If I can get another one, I'm gonna put it on a keychain & mark it with high viz tape or something lol.

Looks good... we have brackets in production now so when they are done we can send you the link to purchase one.

You can use any magnet to change the light pattern. It's a reed switch behind the lens activated by any magnet. So even if you lose it, im sure you have a magnet or two (or a hundred if your like me) laying around.

I'll probably keep it on this bracket for now.
But good to know that any magnet can switch the pattern.
Thanks

Do you have an idea when you might see the brackets? I'm planning on doing the same thing with my turn light but I'd much rather sell the complete unit to recoup some of the cost to get the DD chase light.

A few weeks out. It'll only be available to customers whom buy the chase lights with us, as part of a package deal (or existing customers who picked up a chase light already). Reason for this is that we're basically selling it at cost. We did a SMALL run on these so our costs are very high. And I don't want to have to charge customers $50-$60 for a bracket so we have to make our margins somewhere (unless ya know you want to spend $50-$60 on a bracket)

Is the DD light better than the turn(not taking into account the crappy powder coat on the turn light)

You have any images of the bracket? I currently have the turn swing away spare mount and was hoping to direct bolt to their plate on the kit. Pretty much the same way OP has his setup done.

I haven't gotten to really use it yet, but I'd say the actual lighting is better, yes.
The brake light function is certainly better, just by virtue of being bigger (the center 4 LEDs are red).
The outer lights on each side are white/amber depending on function & appear to be brighter than the turn one. I actually had to put a yellow film on the turn light to make it the color I want.
I was able to use the reverse light last night & it was brighter than the Turn one (again, there's more LED because it's all 4 of the outer ones).

Overall, I'd say the turn one was made using cheap chinese LEDs & cheap finishes.
If you wanted to get good light from the turn one, you'd have to swap the cheap LEDs with Baja S2s.
And I've yet to find a good replacement for the round red leds.

The housing itself of the turn one is pretty nice - that's clearly the only part they spent any actual money on.
I'm planning to rebuild the turn one the way they should've from the beginning & use it on another vehicle.

Awesome setup, and thank you for sharing!

We do have an improvement to change our SmartTap tool to include a loop for a keychain.

No set ETA at this time, but it's a small adjustment to change to the current tool.

Yes that's our bracket we offer with the SS10 Chase Light.

If it's going on your spare tire you'll also want a spare tire mount
