Maybe a long shot but hope some locals can help-

I'm relocating to Seattle.. going from a single family and driveway to downtown apartment life in University District (initially).

I'm not from Seattle.. any suggestions on where I can park or how I can park that would fit a Raptor?

I'm worried garages are going to be tight.. and don't want to deal with that every time I need to drive.

I'm willing to park elsewhere since I'll take public transportation or my scooter around the city locally.

Thanks!

There is a decent amount of onstreet parking in the U District. Most of it is paid or at least registered through terminals - often free in off-peak hours.

e: also, if you know how tall it is, many parking websites show the clearance along with the location. I can't do anything less than 7' with the roof rack.

Thanks friend. Been a minute since I lived in a city and was a little nervous. I've been poking around some parking apps and looks like some lots not too far from me that I can do a monthly fee to park at. Might be the best bet.

The Spot Hero app is pretty good at listing the heights of the garages. I use that one often when going into the city.

If it’s still on there, I think your radio antenna is supposed to be the height of the roof, so you can stop if the garage is too short.

I'd rent a storage unit if it's not the daily driver. Seattle has turned into a hellhole

Is it that bad? I looked up the crime map, definitely red for theft in my area.

But seems I'm staying on the edge of University District, theft looks a lot lower even a few blocks away.

I don't think I'll drive daily, so better to park in another area I guess?

There is a reason that everyone in seattle has a prius or a subaru. A raptor bronco will probably get tires slashed, busted out windows graffiti with some evironmental messaging and a lot of general harassment.

Unfortunately, There is a reason we and most people of common sense have moved out of the area.

Good luck to you.

Don't be under the false assumption that the "University Area" is a safe area. It's where a lot of the protests - riots - lunatics start there activities. As someone above said these same type of people see an SUV - it can certainly become a target for there shenanigans. Stay safe.
