I have a aftermarket rousch cold air intake filter on my 2022 base. I looked up how to clean and was referred to degreasing and oiling.

Well I did that then installed it and after looking more info on ChatGPT it tells me oiling will cause a problem on the maf sensor.

So I took off the filter, cleaned it with dawn, sprayed it off real good and it’s drying. But do I need to clean the maf sensor? Does the 2022 2.7 even have a maf sensor?

Auto parts store, intake cleaner. Follow directions on the can.
All modern efi engines have a maf of some sort, it measures air flow for proper fuel.
If your AI is not searching shop manuals don’t use it, otherwise it search’s internet lore and witch craft and gives you shit results. Search shop manuals or ask the auto parts store guys.
Will yours be ok, I think so. Oil soak and wash I don’t think will damage it. I have seen them get worse on them.

I don’t think you have any problem, I have been using K&N filter and oil it when I clean it , never had a problem with MAFS

If you have a K&N style filter, not a dry filter, you have to oil it, just not too much. I had the Roush on one of my earlier Bronco’s. It’s pink from the start meaning it came oiled. There are plenty of videos on how to clean and oil a K&N filter.

@Ducati1098 Wow! no MAF sensor, so how does it measure air flow input?
It’s speed density. It calculates air flow by RPM, IAT and the MAP sensor data.

The new 25+ 2.3L utilizes a maf sensor now though.

thanks for the input, now that's one less item I don't have to worry about cleaning.
