2025 2.3L Ford Performance Tune

Question, wondering if someone in this thread knows. Would 91 octane fuel vs. 93 octane fuel make a difference in getting the most of this performance upgrade? Just wondering...

I can only speak of my experience with my 2020 Mustang GT. The car had a Ford Performance tune on it. Initially with 91 octane the car made 439rwhp with 93 octane it made 444rwhp but the dyno graph was smoother as it didn't seem to be pulling timing. On a car that makes its own atmosphere (Forced Induction) it will probably make a difference, but these 2.3L MPC engines are done making horsepower by 6krpm so it will probably make a difference, but pretty small.

Does anyone have any word on when the tune will be sold separately. I already have the pro cal scan tool from the dealership when i bought my bronco, but just need the tune software.

You can't purchase Ford Performance calibrations separately. You have to buy a new procal.

Dealership was originally going to install a ford performance tune and sell it as a dealer add on. Their techs order the tool, Vin locked it to the bronco and then realized there was no applicable tune for 2025.

This was all prior to me finding my bronco.

When I bought my bronco, they didn't charge me for the add on they just gave the tool to me since it was already been vin locked to my vehicle and couldnt be used on any other vehicle.

Yeah, I think every reasonable person thinks this is ridiculous.

My tool didn't come preloaded, but had some code. The tune was downloaded through the FP site by me. I'm not sure why Ford won't do this with an existing ProCal tool. My only guess is that they don't want people reusing a ProCal for more than one vehicle, but it's the same as the ProCal I have if I tried to use it for another vehicle/tune. It's a head scratcher.

Ducati can confirm but your SOL I believe using that particular ProCal for a tune. As it is, it is useful for its other functions (gauges, tire size/speedo adjustments, very limited DTC code reading, etc.).

Dealer techs often know less about ProCal then average consumers who read a post or two on this forum.

I was origninally going to have my dealer install the tune (i had negotiated the procal/tune at purchase) but after talking to the service dept. I realized I was better off doing it myself...

Oh okay maybe I'm wrong then.
I've never seen the calibration voucher available separately.
They must've changed things recently because the listings for the Ford performance calibration used to say "Calibration not sold separately"

Yeah one listing says they're only sold as a package and tunes aren't sold separately. The other one says you required a married pro cal tool to the vehicle and it is the pro cal tune voucher only.

With the tool and tune being $800-$900 and the 21-24 tune only being $400.

Either way, I never paid for the tool to begin with so im not out any money. If I could just get the software and it be cheaper, it just makes getting the tune that much more enticing.

Oddly enough I had never heard of Blue Oval Industries until IrishMurph mentioned them, turns out they're located about an hours drive from my house. Definitely will be using them again in the future now that I know about them.

I don´t know yet. Let me ask you, would $350 for installation be worth if it maintains the 3 year warranty? My bronco is 8 months old...

Thanks, that is pretty detailed. To me then, it is going to come down to the difference in the price of 91 vs. 93 gas...
