After doing the four corners, I will say that detail and soundstage is better. I find the B&O speakers hit and miss depending on the song. On one song they can sound pretty good and on another, they can flat with some instruments and notes completely absent that you know are there. However, with the Hertz 100.3 anyway, the downside is that vocal "S's" hiss a little, which is off-putting for me. I'm currently playing with the B&O tone control to try and dial that out. On another positive note, I can actually hear the rear pods at play, whereas the B&Os may as well have not been there at all and I'd likely not have noticed.

However, had I been able to audition these in another Bronco, I may not have done the upgrade at all. I've been looking at the Mobridge upgrade and it's the "right answer" but I'm not ready to take that leap just yet. I was hoping the "small improvements" might help just enough, hence my interest int the MJP6s, but based on the above, maybe not.
Quick update regarding the Hissy S's in vocals and toning down the highs. I started by playing with the treble control and it helps, but then it starts taking away from detail. What I found is that the hissing S's were actually coming from the center dash speaker! I didn't change that one and also didn't notice it before the upgrade, but its definitely coming from that speaker. If I turn off surround, it goes away as well, which also tones down the center speaker quite a bit. If I leave it in stereo mode, no hissing. I also found if I set it to surround mode, then move the speaker balance one click rearward from default, that helps as well. One more click rearward and its even better, but then it messes with the soundstage too much.

What would be really nice is if Ford provided a center and bass gain setting, like our Honda Pilot Bose system does (which sounds amazing to my ear) because I tend to listen at lower volumes and it allows me to tune things to the volume I like to listen at. What would also be nice is an actual EQ or a way to tune the DSP.

Replacing the rear pod speakers is more worthwhile than the kicks? Could be, I never sat back there.
Rears add a lot to the sound stage. Kicks… just kinda fill in a bit of the midbass the dash speakers cant provide

I guess my interpretation was the kicks gave the mid bass "thump" or "impact" bass, where the sub bass was the deeper frequencies. Listening to the factory kicks, it seems that way, though there are lower mids from vocals coming through too.

But maybe my expectations for what those kick panels would do if upgraded to an MJP6 would actually do, even with the stock B&O amp.

Maybe my setup is all wrong but I cant get any impact out of my kicks. Its not an “enclosure” or sealed like a subwoofer requires and it just cant really punch. It puts out a decent amount of volume (I have a full 50W going to mine, wired independent of the dash) - but not a lot of bass / punch

The sub in the back can hit well though, and I have it tuned where there isnt a gap in the sound profile sweeping frequencies

And that's with an amp, correct? So I would expect even less with just stock B&O. Good to know.

Agree with the advice here about not upgrading without an amp.

I installed Memphis speakers without an amp and didn't notice a difference until I added an Alpine KTP-445U above the glove compartment (with a line out converter to handle high input power and bandpass crossover). That made a huge difference and the amp is so small that you can hide it easily. I have a post somewhere on here about how to do this.

Could be a number of reasons. One is you need an adapter plate which metra makes and they sell. Second, could be that the way the B&O speakers are mounted. The wire terminals are on the inside under the mounting surface. So in order to get them connected You would need to drill a hole in the mounting plate and connect the speakers and then connect to the factory harness outside of the mounting surface.

Or the really simple answer is they just don't know and if I had a guess I'd lean more towards that unfortunately because they also said that the Infinity ref. 407s would not fit in the dash.

We have a tune for the C1s, but if im honest you will spend your money better elsewhere
@mObridge Can you please elaborate as my intentions are to buy your amp/dsp kit and pair with JL Audio (C2 or C3) speakers. So I'm trying to gauge what your comment meant and see if it was aimed at speaker bias (not meaning anything negative) or another concern.

I wouldnt spend the money on a mobridge if you’re just going to use c2s or c3s. There are more tunes available on the forum for a morel setup. Stay stock and do some sound deadening. Even with Fraser tuning I blew my c2s. The jls can barely take the out the box configuration. I’ve decided to go morel. I’ve started to pull my c2s for morel. Top on the jls were fine, too off, I could hear crap below 20.
