Easy peasy mod, installed the rear cap thumb screws from @EZ4X4. Pretty nice. Feels like I can get decent torque on them just by hand, but if you like a little more, a long allen key or screw driver can be slid in between the posts to snug 'em up a little more or to get that last 1/4 turn to align it. The factory torx bolts are grade 10.9. Not sure what grade the thumb screw fasteners are, but I'd be surprised if the composite flange on the rear cap could exceed the tensile or shear strength of even an 8.8 fastener. I'd also imagine the much larger head of the thumb screw fasteners would give better holding power over the smaller headed OEM parts. I'd think the OEM bolts could pull through the flange more easily in an extreme situation, like a roll over. Look good and may help secure odd size/shape things in the back. Rockworkx has some nice looking straps that will hopefully work with these, too.

How tight do you go? I have a set of those and I turn until snug them a smidge more. I could definitely crank em another turn if I tried. I am not fond of how much the lip of the hard top gets pushed down as I tighten. I’m afraid of cracking something.

About that tight. As tight as I could get it by hand, then a wee bit further if it wasn't aligned with the edge. No torque wrench here and I have wussy grip. A buddy of mine has GI Joe Kung-Fu grip and he could probably strip the threads with his hands.

Made the ADD Rock Fighter bumper lower center grill plate into an easy access panel for protection and better access inside the bumper for lighting and stuff. I'd left it off for more air flow, but I was accumulating some junk in there. It was supposed to be put on with 1/4-20 screws and nylok nuts. I put 10-24 blind riv nuts in the panel to make it much easier to remove to access the wiring in there. I would have used 1/4-20 riv nuts, but the grill panel did not have much edge margin for a larger hole and the 10-24 nuts fit the existing 1/4 hole. I had already done this with the RF plates on each side. Sure is nice to be able to get in there cause taking the bumper off is a beeooch.

NorCal β€œstorm” is coming next week so I’m going partially topless today. Can’t wait for summer to get the mic top off and into the shed.

when I took a test drive and it definitely feels like it's a bit less laggy and a bit more pep when I get on the gas.
Does two bits = time + frustration + $? Might take the computer some time to figure out the new fuel/air mixtures. When do bigger injectors come into the fold?

Got these for my Tacoma but they didn't fit where I needed them to so I guess the DD gets ditch lights.

I thinking of going the opposite way. I got lots of rattles, creaks, squeaks, and blowing noises from mods, aftermarket crap, and stashed gear. Reducing the wind noise from the roof will only bring the next noise to front, center stage. I'm thinking full on mud tires will help blend it all into a bold Bronco symphony. As the Eagles once said, "...just don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy." :)
