EPIC Roadie Removable Arm Rest for Bronco!

Today I learned that I'm an oddball for putting my arm up there. But I'm also someone that keeps the seat a bit higher and forward than most people do. I'm 6'2", and used to keep my seat pretty far back and low. But when I attended the Off-Roadeo, the guide rode shotgun with me, and he suggested I try moving the seat a bit forward and up so that I have a better view of the trail. I gave it a shot for the day, and found that it actually made seeing things a bit easier. Now it's just become a habit for me.

I've been looking for an armrest like this, because now the door sill is pretty much the right height for me - but it's not wide enough. The price feels a bit steep, but I do appreciate the reasoning behind it, and being made where it is. It'll at least end up on my shopping list of things to think about.

On the other hand, I read somewhere a study showed increased incidence of skin cancer on the driver side arm, theory was it got more sun exposure.

in Australia, the truck drivers get their skin cancer on the right arm, right shoulders, and right side of the face… ours get it on the left.

I'm a lefty...so driving with my left I prefer the inward "Detroit lean" as we Michiganders call it.

I hang my left arm out for the 'gram sometimes. When the windows are up though my left is the primary steerer.

The only problem with the perch is that it's hard to see street lights. lol I've gotten to where I try to look in the reflection on the hood, or hope I'm with other people who I can go with to leave. But yeah, definitely an elbow on the sill guy, the armrest is too far away, I have to lean over to it.

Heh, read the first 3-4 replies on this thread and I was thinking... "okay, so I'm weird apparently". But @Ducati1098 and @Brian_B saved it for me.

I'm probably still weird though... that's the defacto spot where I put my arm when road-tripping. Not sure I ever felt the need to buy a pillow for my arm, but yeah... that's where it sits on every vehicle for hours upon hours.

Except for the Escape. The height of the window frame on the Escape pinches a nerve and makes my arm go numb. Usually don't notice until I go to turn the steering wheel slightly and my arm just... acts dumb.

lol - I do the same thing, looking at the hood sometimes for the light reflections. I definitely miss the panorama view I used to have in the F150 I had before the Bronco. (But that's about all I miss, well that, and the seemingly infinite cargo space…)

Love the idea! Hate the material. Making it leather or even pleather would be way nicer than "backpack arm strap" material. This is most likely my autism speaking, but the look of the material appears far too rough/scratchy based on the pics.

Also... I feel that cost could be reduced a whole lot by eliminating the custom metal "epic" logo that isn't seen when it's installed anyway. $125 is pretty steep.

Great idea, I definitely believe there's a need for this product, as I drive with my elbow resting there on the windowsill myself and often feel a soreness coming on from how hard the door is. If there were a cheaper option, or a similarly priced option with leather or pleather or something and with a more minimal/subtle look, then that would be my cup of tea!

Not dissing the product, just offering my opinion.

I do every time I drive actually! I keep one elbow there and one elbow on the center console, both hands holding the steering wheel interchangeably or together. I find the arm rest on the door to be too low to reach the steering wheel even with it fully telescoped out and down. I'm 5'8" for reference, and have a 4 door wildtrak (2022).

Nice product. I first saw one of these watching Ronny Dahl on YouTube and did some research. There is certainly a lot of options on the internet to purchase one. (ahem a lot cheaper). But maybe if Epic roadie would offer a group buy at discount, they would get more traction. I'll save my money for an expensive Bronco bamboo tailgate table for $550 or one of those ridiculous overpriced Howl R4 propane fire pits for $1500.00. I won't buy any of these things as I am more of budget (cheap) guy and will find cheaper or used options. Have a great week everyone!
