Ah okay, yeah I was referring to custom tuning. I have a ZFG tuneIt’s the ford performance tune. Running it for about 38k miles now.
Even after it’s warmed up. It’s kind of an intermittent issue- which makes it difficult to pin down. Sometimes I drive it and it’s smooth with good power. Other times laggy and clunky.@Snowdogyyz, even all warmed up? Mine can be a little abrupt at times, but it seems to be while the engine and transmission temps are coming up. My tranny takes a very long time to get to temp in the winter.
I'm not so sure we dodged it. My 2024 Big Bend (Nov 2024 build), on three different occasions, stalled at the worst possible times, at intersections. These were very hot, humid days in Tennessee last June while going to the Bronco Rodeo event. I remember thinking the vehicle was acting like it was starved for fuel; like an old Honda with gas "boiling" in those hot braided lines. The Bronco has behaved perfectly since then, but I wonder....I think I dodged another one.
Interesting to see that they were building MY23 in July of 2022...
It would have set low fuel pressure codes if it was fuel system relatedI'm not so sure we dodged it. Nice! Our 4-door '24 WT was built 11/24 as well. To date we haven't experienced that issue, but we've only had it 6 months and 6K miles.I'm not so sure we dodged it. Dad took me Salmon fishing a few times off Point Defiance. The current is certainly no joke. I don't recall being out there when the tides turned but Point No Point up north was nasty when the tides turned.@crzyhawk, it's a dandy of a bridge. I often white knuckle it across on my motorcycles. It's also fun navigating the waters below it on a tide swing. A small, underpowered boat can end up in a loosing battle against the current, especially with wind blown waves in your bow.
If you have a code reader, here is what codes mine threw when my LPFP died...Alright, so it's 4 degrees out today in MI. Had to run out to the post office and then I stopped to gas up. The truck started fine after fill up, but stalled out when I started backing out and would not restart. We pushed it off to the side and after waiting about five minutes it started and I drove home. Check engine light is on - here's the message from the app. Now I'm afraid to drive the damn thing until I can get it serviced.
I've got a reader. I'll check the codes. I can get it into the dealer next week, but I need to fly to Milwaukee for work. So probably can't get it in until next Fri.If you have a code reader, here is what codes mine threw when my LPFP died...
Threw codes P008A, P00C6, and P0301, both with and without a "(00)".
If you have those, I personally would not drive it. On the plus side, the Ford app worked great to get it towed to the dealership and my dealer turned the repair around quickly. If you have multiple dealerships close to you, maybe call and see if one has less backlog than the others.
I used the app and they had a flat bed truck to me in about 25 minutes, but I'm in Seattle suburbia. It was all covered by Ford.I've got a reader. I'll check the codes. I can get it into the dealer next week, but I need to fly to Milwaukee for work. So probably can't get it in until next Fri.
If you haven't been, Deception Pass is kind of cool to see from the bridge. It can move through there like a river rapid with big whirlpools on bigger swings.Dad took me Salmon fishing a few times off Point Defiance. The current is certainly no joke. If you have those codes....to support my "I wouldn't drive it" statement, when it first died....it was dead, dead and wouldn't restart over the course of several hours. After we had it towed home, it ended up running just long enough to get it in the garage....then it died again in the garage about 100 feet later. The next morning, it ran fine and we we able to drive it up onto the flat bed and shut it off normally. By the time it got to the dealership, it wouldn't start again.I've got a reader. I haven't been but the trip I am planning for back home includes that. I want to take the North Cascades highway, I've heard it's beautiful but never been. Dad usually took Stevens Pass when we went over to the Lake Chelan area. North Cascades should take me over to Whidbey Island via Deception Pass and I can catch the ferry over to Port Townsend to visit my old stomping grounds on the Kitsap and Olympic penninsulas before I head east to Alder and Rimrock lakes, then back home to Virginia. It will be an epic road trip if I can make the logistics work.If you haven't been, Deception Pass is kind of cool to see from the bridge.
