Mine was installed on the rear bumper but it hasn't yet dealt with rain (we're still in our dry season here). The view from down low certainly is weird. I plan to relocate mine to the tire mount. However, one of the photos earlier in this thread showed even that area getting pretty dirty which I can believe under some road conditions, even on pavement.

The view from down low would be great for off-road, so I'll be looking into whether some other sort of camera system can handle that.

Question for Wolfbox: I have the G900 TriPro 3-channel bumper version installed. What I'd really like is to have 5 cams: forward, back, and cab for on the road, and then both bumpers for off-roading. Is there some way I can use your products to get this kind of setup?

Thanks for sharing, dear friend. maybe rain-x can help with the droplets.

To answer your question, we don't have that particular product that has so many cam interfaces. But I did see some DIY enthusiasts bought a switch and conneted additional cams. You can search the post in our FB group Wolfbox Community.

Cheers!

This is easily the best solution I have seen. I am very impressed, thank you for sharing!

Do you have pictures of the view?
This is my plan and the parts are on order!

Anybody mount to the underside of the @TrailRax TRMR? I am thinking about getting the G900 TriPro and center the rear camera on the rear most crossmember between my two chase lights.

If you want, just pay for shipping and cover the cost of filament... probably like a $3-$5 print. I'm still tweaking it slightly as it hits by like a 1/16" when putting the tire back on. But if you don't mind it being dead nuts I can probably print one this weekend. Just picked up a spool of ASA (black) for printing this as it has better properties for using in the elements.

Edit: Forgot to ask, I assume you have the Sasquatch wheels? That's what I designed this for, and it probably won't work with other wheels.

Edit #2: According to Wolfbox, the camera isn't meant to sit how I have it. Sure I can flip the view horizontally so it appears correct in the mirror, but then it records backwards. So in order to get it to record and look the same in the mirror, I need to flip the camera, therefor will need to raise it up a bit.
Did you get your spare tire location mount adjusted as you discussed here? I'd love to get one from you if so. I've printed a few things, but never worked with ASA, ABS, or PETG-CF.

I have it where it works for my placement inside the wheel. Also have another one being fabricated (at some point) for someone else who wanted to mount it lower on the same Sasquatch wheel.

To be honest, any type of filament I used (from the ones listed above), always had give to them. I didn't like the way the mount still flexed. Eventually had the guy at my shop cut out of 1/8" aluminum plate and it's been working good. I just need to paint it with plasti-dip or something to protect it.

Printing PETG-CF is easy, probably won't hold up to the elements. ASA & ABS require an enclosure (and I also use glue on the build plate). ASA will hold up to UV better than ABS. But as mentioned above, just not solid enough for me (1/8" thick bracket).

Currently working on a hood for the camera to protect from road spray. Just created a new design as the last one didn't really help all that much. Those I'm printing. Testing with PLA, will go with ASA once I find something that works.

I really appreciate you sharing this. Mine is mounted in that location just using the double sided tape and has worked fine for a year but I like the look of this mount. Does the little hood/lip above the camera help with keeping rain off the camera?

It hasn’t arrived yet but that’s the exact reason I ordered it between rain and snow I wanted the camera protected - I can repost/report back it’s due to arrive just after Xmas

That mount is great, but of course, it will not fit the Raptor. I am looking at a way to mount inside the spare without breaking the bank. I have a Jeep-style one that I believe I can modify that may do the trick.

That's an interesting mount, but unfortunately the 3rd brake light shakes quite a bit. Every little bump and the camera is all over the place. It drove me nuts, which is why I mounted it inside my wheel.

Good luck - I was considering inside the tire too except I have my plate mounted on my spare (had this saved it said it was universal/jeep, not sure if it would work for you https://a.co/d/8PUGK5X ) before I found the crossroads

Oof I have a spare mounted license plate - sometimes the I have my hitch mounted cargo carrier loaded with that would go over the bottom part of the spare obstructing the camera - guess I’m going to need to live with the shake lol
