What's everyone doing for recalibrations after lifts, if any? Curious what the lift tolerance is before recalibration needed.

Mine got recaled with a new windshield once.

Then I did it again when I had FDRS for a weekend doing the winch/bumper update. I might have changed out shocks then, but didn't add too much lift. And once more later on, when I had weird electrical glitches my camera popped a code saying the cal was off. That corresponded with some other weirdness and I chalk that up to a dying battery.

I've since went from 35s to 38s on tires, and haven't re-run the cal for that. I noticed Forscan has it, but haven't tried it to see if it actually works or not.

Auto high beam still works fine. Collision detection never has went off often and I don't intend on intentionally trying it out - so... no noticeable change in function there.

The windsheld guy said anytime your ride height or rake changes you should have it recaled (and they ~only~ charge $200 for the service) - something about horizon detection. But that would mean something as simple as having 3 passengers and loading a bit of weight in the back end would invalidate the camera, so it surely has some compensation in the software. I don't know the official answer to when it's absolutely required.

My wife and I both had windshields replaced by an independent shop that most of the dealerships in our areas use for replacements. He said on factory glass there are guidelines on the windshield that show exactly where it goes and unless you completely miss those, there’s rarely a need to recalibrate. He said they have only had one or two vehicles out of the hundreds that they do, need recalibration. His recommendation was to drive it as is and if you get an errror, take it in, but to test it before you spend hundreds to have it done. Not recommending this, just stating what I was told and what I experienced. This is not legal advice. :)

Thanks!

I'm also thinking there must be integrated ride height sensors and auto calibration to compensate for trailer tow, and fluctuating onboard loads, as well as the comical brake dive and accelerating squat on my OBX.

Seems stable after BL Hoss2 install with only 1/2" lift.

I just put a new OEM windshield on my 24 Black Diamond after taking a rock on the highway. My local glass guy also said no need to calibrate if installed properly. Have had no issues.

Interesting.... I now ride 9 inches taller than I did stock. Have not recalibrated and yet everything works fine.... been over a year and a half. Don't know of any issues.
That is really interesting. Active cruise and auto braking works fine? This is impressive.

I use it all the time... works fine. I have always kept the sensors set to the longest following distance. Maybe that plays into it? I have taken notice that at the longest distance following time is about 2 seconds when I was trained that 3 seconds was the safe following distance. BUT these days 3 seconds is massive and everyone is cutting you off. Hell they do it a 2 seconds as well.

don't think there's any ride height sensors, but definitely something feeding pitch and roll for the off-road display

Active cruise uses the thing down in the bumper.

The camera in the windshield is used for collision detection / auto brake assist, auto high beam, street sign detection, and lane departure (not sure if Broncos have all of that or not)

Yep. Braptor is the only one with VDS height sensors.
But all broncos have multiple sensors built into the RCM for lateral/longitudinal/vertical acceleration and roll/yaw rate.

I think the only street sign detection we have is simply GPS.... mostly seems to identify well until you get into temporary construction zones. No signs recognized.

You sure they are not GPS? Mine changes the shown speed limit when I pass a sign but only the signs that are permanently placed. and temporary signs it does not recognize.

Pretty sure it does both. Can watch it update every time you pass a speed limit sign, without fail.
