Well, tongue in cheek here, you could take the Smokey Yunick approach and install a lot of fuel line. If it took him 11 feet of 2 inch fuel line to get 5 extra gallons of gas, you just need to about 33 feet, and probably some type of skid plates for protection. Keeps the center of gravity low and nothing hanging off the hitch or bumper.

Learning a lot from your quest.

Not possible without seriously affecting ground clearance. Only 8 gal. (in a 4D) is practical, maybe 10 if fabrication cost and complexity are zero concern.
I have a 3" body lift. In that space I can get a 20 gal. can. My long-term plan is to do just that.

Thanks for the suggestion! Dragging a trailer through tea pot canyon would be spicy. Thanks!
I just finished doing the White Rim Trail dragging a 14’ overlander trailer, on 35s. It had the articulating hitch which was a necessity. That trip was over 100 miles when starting and finishing in Moab. I carried a 5-gallon jerry can on the trailer but I made the trip on my Bronco’s gas tank (4-door). I have the 2.3 FYI.

Thanks. I have a list of all of these. The Rig’d version has the highest weight capacity & can be flip flopped to open driver or pass. Cheers! Thanks for sharing.
In case you were not aware, the Kuat can't be flipped per se, but can be ordered either way.

Are you sure? The Engineered Off-Road Systems water tank is packed really tightly/efficiently and is 8 gal. 3" on the top might get you 6 gal. Where is the other 6 coming from? Now that said the EOS tank also does not sacrifice 1 in^3 in ground clearance. If you are willing to do that, you could carry a lot more.

Move the entire exhaust system first so it is not behind the axle, then with a 3" body lift this area has enough room for a 20-gallon tank.

I did think of that. The EOS water system leverages the fact that the Raptor has a "side running" style exhaust as opposed to the non Raptor which obviously takes up most of that potentially usable space. So you have another place to route an exhaust that is not essentially the same as the Raptor and is forward of the axle? Is that fully custom or an existing aftermarket option? And you can get the 20 gal. without sacrificing ground clearance? That surely can't be obtained without a fully custom tank?

I found a tank online in the dimensions that are very nearly the size of the exhaust once I locate it forward of the axle. it will be custom exhaust.

Do you have a 3" body lift yet? I,d have to measure it again and find it again. I am not planning on this happening until after other mods. I made sure it was possible and tabled it till I get my upgraded axles wider arms and I'll be four linking the rear and going to longer coil overs at that time.
Money and time are in the way.

Now I will measure that area and take some pictures after I return from windrock if you want that?

Ok, I emailed Titan asking about fitment compatibility with a Bronco equipped with Turn Offorad’s HD tire carrier & tailgate reinforcement. Here is their reply.

“as far as the Titan tank fitting your Turn Offroad HD tire carrier tailgate reinforcement, should be no problem. You will have to extend your 3rd light brackets. I'm not sure if our kits for the jeeps will work on your ford. And if you have a back up camera in the center, you will have to extend that too.”

So sounds like this is feasible. Finding a work around for the 3rd brake light should be reasonably straightforward.

Extending the rear camera should also be possible. TBD on that as I’d wager it would be slightly more difficult than the brake light.

However I would not be running this tank full time that’s another layer I need to consider.

I’ll keep researching this Titan solution for now and speak up if I learn anything noteworthy.

Cheers & thanks for everyone’s feedback.

Yeah, you're right; they probably had a roof rack. Only other thought I have is a swingout tail gate and boxes on both sides. I thought @Metal-tech 4x4 had one that could be ordered that way, but didn't see it on the website.
I have metal tech aces high rear bumper with two can mounts but they stopped making them
