2025+ 2.3 MPC Oil Change Info request

Hello,
there seems to be a lack of DIY oil change info out there for this new engine. Anyone have pertinent data? I’ll take anything I can get. Would really like torque setting for drain plug and oil filter. If no torque spec for oil filter, then how much more rotation after oil filter gasket contact with block? Thanks for any assistance. Mine is getting close to first oil change.

It's actually nearly identical to the old 2.3L engine.

• Drain plug: 27 Nm
• Oil Filter: 8 Nm + 225º

Any idea what size oil filter wrench fits the different OEM oil filter on this engine? I know the previous 2.3 Ecoboost used a 76mm 14 flute filter wrench, but the 2.3 MPC is a different OEM oil filter part number…

Are you about to change out the factory fill? Several of us would love to see an analysis of the factory fill on a standard change interval…

Oooooo… got me there.

I have done a few oil changes on the new engine (uncle-in-law has a 2025 Ranger) but I can’t say confidently if I used the 74mm filter cap or the auto-adjusting spring loaded one. Frankly I usually use whatever one I find first in my toolbox.

FL-2127 (iirc) is the new filter though. Should just be able to go to your local parts store and figure it out pretty quickly.

I will warn you that the factory filters sometimes have a different number of flutes than the Motorcraft-branded one, which in turn may be different than 3rd party filters. So unless you intend on sticking with a specific brand, an adjustable one might make more sense.

I wish. I did that for my 2021. You can check out that thead here. The 2025 I picked up was a Ford fleet vehicle. They drove it 8500 miles in one month and did an oil change then. I’m gonna let this Motorcraft Blend run until 10k and pull it.

76/14 fits FL2127

I’ll confirm tomorrow. I think it’s the same size. Which made me wonder what the difference is. Especially since the FL-400S is compatible across both.

I’m dumping the factory fill @ 1k miles, and putting in full synthetic. What I do with all my Fords
