I didn’t personally, no. Specific price will vary dealer to dealer usually, but it’s north of $10k at MSRP price and that’s obviously before paint.
Makes the Armadillo top seem like a bargain.

Keep in mind that the current mod top pricing from the parts counter isn't a complete kit. Each part is itemized and charged individually i.e. gaskets, clamps, panels, glass, etc.

Back before Ford made the 4-dr MIC top available as a complete kit, it too was very expensive based on the individual pricing of the components. Back then, it was nearly $8k for the individual priced components. Now, the complete kit can be ordered for around $5k.

Ford hasn't made the painted HT available as a complete kit, yet. Not sure if they will at a later date.

But right now, anyone can go to their parts counter and order the components for a painted HT. It is cost-prohibitive not just for the components, but also the subsequent paint.

Ford will never do that under warranty. Doesn't matter if you offer to pay the difference or not. That's just not how warranty works. Has to be the same part.
I understand what you're saying, but what "if" Ford were to eventually concede that it is defective and it is no longer produced? I could see that maybe opening the window to the mod top being a replacement option. Would be interesting to know if there's ever been a similar case.

Not that I can recall. I’ve never seen them offer a different part instead of attempting to fix or change the current part. I mean I won’t say it’s absolutely not going to happen, because I’m not Ford. But if I was to guess.. it will 99.9% never happen lol

If they do eventually release something because of the top issues, which I don’t think they ever will to begin with, I think it will just be another MIC top after they have changed or tried to fix the issue.

My personal belief is that all these tops will get stress cracks at some point. I switched my hardtop for a softop this summer and the added flex of the body was staggering. Without a crossbar in the middle it appears the hardtop is acting like a brace. Hit a pothole, uneven surface, etc. over and over and stress cracks show up. Just my theory….
