You know why... that is exactly what I was going to mention.... I think their tune is good. That is a little bit of making the numbers look good though UNLESS the untuned run was on the SAME tires and wheels... Which it might have been BUT it LOOKS like a bit of cheating.... Do not know.

Thats exactly what it was. When developing the PPM when that pic was taken we used those wheels for every test we did so we could keep it that consistent.

We have no need to spruce up #'s when we are not worried about having the highest HP to sell tunes. Our entire success of tuning is based on our approach of reliability and drivability before power

It is good to keep things consistent. Makes for a fair realistic comparison. I am glad you did that. It does look like you have a pretty good tune there.

HP Tuners Cracked it. We are using their software to provide the tune and support! With that said MPG increase is a possibility something I have not checked on yet as we do change the fuel mapping from being as rich from the factory but when you get more HP & TQ its hard to keep your foot out of it which takes away any gains we may have given you

Some partial throttle data would be interesting. Maybe i am an outlier but WOT is like 3% use case for me. More interested in gains at 50-60% throttle.

I especially like the idea of the engine working in its happiest place and removing pesky barriers. Tune + 93 + High Flow Cats is a goal for the future after warranty is up.

Thats why we mention under the curve gains. These are more important so you can see how much more power there is not at the top of the RPM range. We focus a lot on the power band you daily drive in.

There is really no way to dyno half throttle each time because its all a feel of the pedal and not consistent . Thats why we look at the RPM ranges you will be in and do a lot of drivability testing before release to make sure its something we would not only personally drive but a customer would be happy with.

2.3 is being worked on still from HP. Once out we will have support 100%

Just note, there are now two different 2.3L engines to calibrate.

For anyone currently running a Ford Performance tune, do you need to revert back to their stock file before flashing one of your tunes?

How flexible and/or sensitive are these tunes to fuel? e.g. if I opt for a 93 octane tune, but I suddenly find myself where there is no 93 octane fuel, am I putting the engine at risk?

how are G.O.A.T. modes affected (or not affected) by this tune?

It states all logs and tunes are stored "safely in the cloud". Can you share what cloud service provider hosts this information? is it in one availability zone or spanned across multiple? Is there any option to store a tune file locally as well as log files? or does this always require an active internet connection?

Great questions!

Yes, if you are running the Ford Performance tune, you would want to revert back to stock before flashing a new tune.

If you run a 93 octane map, it is totally fine to use 91 octane in a pinch. Just don't beat on it!

GOAT modes are not affected at all!

All files are stored on the HP Tuners TDM network. Yes, you do have the option to download logs and tune files. All this is done on your phone via bluetooth.

That is not something we would do, as we cannot build a separate map that will change upon what drive mode you are in. There are some things we are able to change between drive modes, but it is limited.
