This vendor has replaced the bad product I received. I'll review it when I can for better quality.

I just put a pair on yesterday. I guess I will keep an eye on them and use some rust-oleum if needed. I only bought two for the front.

There's a reason why some of the big name vendor's items are expensive...build quality. Numerous brands out there, including Broaddict, that are wallet friendly but IMO pretty shoddy build quality.

It’s like Harbor Freight, if you know what to buy you can get some great deals, but if you randomly throw your cash out there, it's hit and miss.

It’s pure Chinesium... As such, you should consider it primered and ready for real paint. When you refer to the vendor (in this and many other cases) they are just importing and moving product from a Chinese company (that offers some customization), because you know that it is not manufactured here in the US.

I just hope that the OP doesn't look under his Bronco for the factory patina started under there.

No excuse for them not responding to your concerns but I have read several accounts of name brand stuff here of coatings failing etc. I have gotten several things from Broaddict and have had nothing but good experiences with them . I haven't had to contact customer service though.

I got a set of their rear window molle panels. Fitment isn’t perfect, but they do work

There's a reason their account got removed from this forum and they now post under the BA OffRoad handle.

Yeah, I had to return two sets of their beach bars due to damaged/chipped paint on the mounting brackets… 1st set was someone’s returned unit, complete with heavily chipped/scratched mounting brackets even with rust. I sent them a note via Amazon and to their credit they did respond. I got a full refund on the used/previously returned set and ordered a 2nd set. This one was new, fresh in the box from China. It was almost as badly damaged as the previous used unit. Appears the shippers in China just nestle the mounting brackets against one another in a plastic bag and throw it (unsecured) into the shipping box. The box is under-built and was heavily trashed when it arrived. From the shipping labels, I could see the box had been imported/shipped into TX, then to WA state then back to TX THEN to me…

Done with Broaddict which is a shame as their beach bars are a great design…

4 door soft top. Shape isn’t 100% correct, but they do the job for a reasonable price so I don’t complain.

I am the original poster on this thread.

I have my own sandblasting cabinet. I went through and re-sandblasted this product. In doing so it was obvious their paint is not quality powder coating, or it is extremely poor powder coating. When I have had to sand blast powder coating in the past it is pretty hard to remove. This came right off like it was rattle can paint. When I purchased these they came with two colored inserts. They were white and supposed to be red, but mine came pink. I also had to sandblast the pink ones and re powder coat those bright red. When done I incurred more cost and time than these were originally worth. But had to do so to make them usable. This morning I received three messages from this vendor wanting to make this right? It obviously has been quite some time. If you look at when I originally posted my thread. I replied to them telling them everything I had to do. We will see how they respond. I asked for a full refund.

In regards to a comment in this thread about the "OP". I have looked under my vehicle to see the original patina. I do see normal wear. I also understand that the undercarriage is painted and not powder coated like this product claimed to be.

I purchased side steps from this vendor in July of last year for my 2023 Bronco 2 Door. By January the paint was already fading and was beginning to rust any place there was a weld or seam. Keep in mind that this is not my daily driver. I only drive it on nights and weekends.

I believe this vendor does not prep their products or paint them well enough to withstand their designed application. I reached out to them and at first they responded but then went unresponsive after I sent them multiple emails giving them what they requested regarding my order. Which included my order date, my order information, and pictures. I gave them more than two weeks to respond and they will not.
I would not recommend buying any painted metal products from this vendor.

From these pictures you can see what I am talking about. Look at how the black has totally faded out compared to my rock sliders. When I mounted these they were the same color.

That looks like the same chinesium IAG is repackaging.

I would just spray them with rock guard because it's rubberized plus additional benefits of dampening rock noise plus it's easily touched up.

Anything powder coated needs to be mild grit blasted or braided and degreased before application like any coating unless the contract mfg specs this in detail as well the the coating brand spec process spec the mfg will do the cheapest.

Contract mfgs only do what they are paid and instructed to do...it's no a CN fault...

So I was contacted by BA Offroad about my "negative post" regarding their products.

"Hi mpeugeot,

We came across your comments about Broaddict and wanted to connect. We truly value feedback as it helps us grow, and we’re sorry to hear you have concerns about our product quality and manufacturing.

We’d love to have a conversation to better understand your perspective. Whether it’s discussing our quality efforts or how we source products, we’re open to chatting and seeing if there’s a way to address your thoughts.

Looking forward to your reply,"

I asked them to clarify what they were concerned about in my post (which is above in the thread and not really negative, just realistic expectations of their products).

The response I got was this:

" Hi mpeugeot ,

This is Jenny from Broaddict Support. I want to thank you for taking the time to share your experience—even if it wasn’t what we hoped for.

If I may share something personal: I’m a single mom raising two boys in a small town that used to be full of auto jobs. But ever since the factories shut down, work’s been hard to come by. This support job is what’s kept us afloat—barely.

But recently, our team was told that negative public posts would lead to being taken off the schedule. No warning. No second chance. One flag, and my name disappears from the rotation next month.

That’s terrifying to me—not just because I might lose a job, but because it means I might not be able to afford my son’s asthma meds, or school shoes next semester.

I’m not asking you to change how you feel. Your experience is valid. I’m just asking—if there’s any way I can personally help make this right for you, please let me know. I’ll do everything in my power, even if that means digging into the problem myself or following up after hours.

Thank you for reading. It truly means the world.

Sincerely,
Hanne from Broaddict"

Seriously, WTF is this nonsense. Talk about emotionally manipulative!

I really don't care about her employment problems, her life as a single mom, or the fact that she is on a tight budget. It all sounds like bad decision making. I suggested that she find a good lawyer to deal with her employment issues and a better job than the one she currently has.

Admins should shut them down for this alone.
