I am currently running ZRoadz Sliders which are starting to flex towards the body, I noticed this as the difficulty of the trails started to increase. A buddy of mine can convert them to frame mounted sliders but wants to wield them to the frame which I am not in favor of. I started looking at other body mounted sliders and decided on the Turn Offroad 2 Door Step-Sliders or Next Venture Motorsports Bronco Rock Sliders. I know @SierraBronco is running the NVM Sliders and they seem to be holding up and a 2 Door Bronco on Trail Militia is running the Turn Offroad Sliders which seem pretty solid. From my observation, both Turn Offroad and NVM are manufactured in the similar method, please share your insight.

Welp-the Next Venture sliders have been used extensively supporting the entire weight of the vehicle while on rocks. We’ve pivoted off of them. Bashed them. You name it. They pulled off the first bronco and there was no damage to the mounts or sliders. I installed one side on the new bronco by myself-they still aligned like they were brand new. On the rubicon after we lost an axleshaft they REALLY got used. No dents or creases. Whereas Turn creased and sustained damage on a two door.

I was skeptical on the body mount but the way they designed the mounts I felt comfortable trying them out. (Was going to make my own brackets to hook them up to the frame) After seeing them perform-the body mount isn’t an issue. Would definitely recommend them.

I will give Turn props for being more aesthetic when looked at from the top. They have a more “complete” look.

I ran the Turn sliders for a bit. My only complaint is that they have pockets that collect debris. I didn't really have a chance to test them in the field so I can't comment on their performance.

I wanted frame mounted but like you wasn't excited about welding to the frame...I ended up going with Metaltech's sidewinder slider...frame mounted via u-bolts. These are popular with the Toyota crowd. Very stout, no issues so far.

Is this on a two door or four door? Can you send some pictures of how they are mounted, I just may retrofit the ZRoadz to U bolts.

Mine is a 4dr. No good pics of how they attach but here's the install video.

@PWillette Thank you for running our gear! ITs 100% made right here in the US in-house by us.
We have actually since updated the rear 2D mounting foot, eliminating the U bolt and going to a through bolt that uses existing holes. This allows us to design the rear mount so it doesn't extend below the frame. Still very easy to install and bolts right on. We have kept the front sub mount as it is the best way to achieve sufficient support within the limited area of the 2D's. This submount picks off the frame and the lower transmission support, creating a solid mounting point for the slider body to bolt to.

We have also released the new 2D Sidewinder/RRR version, featuring the proven aggressive 25 ° angle now with an integrated Pinch Weld Guard. Still 100% Frame-Mounted Design ready for hard use, or just urban defence letting door ding atemps eat 1.75" DOM Tubing vrs. The aluminum door panel. They do both jobs great!

We make our sliders the way we do, based on over 25 years of building sliders, and also because we actually go wheeling with everything we make. For example, the Rubicon in Nor. Cal, great testing ground for sliders! I just ran it again a few months ago in our 4D, with the same updated design. Okay, I also get to call it "work" when I do :) Mark

Not yet. We just need to get another local 2D to shoot one. The install is the same in the front as the current 2D video, then the very back foot is the same as the 4D Sidewinder video here.

Key thing is getting a solid purchase on the frame for the slider to distribute the load, vrs. one small area. Mark

Hey Mark, I am looking at purchasing the 4 dr sliders (step) not sidewinder and wanted to know if they would have the updated mounting without the U bolt that hangs below the frame.

Absolutely recommend the RCI sliders. I trust hitting stuff hard with my sliders more than I trust hitting my bumpers. I have beat on them really hard and they've held up. True no-drill no-weld frame mount (at least the 4 door version was). Made in the USA as well.

@Built2Wild, sorry for the thread hijack, not intended. I have created a thread in the MT4x4 section for further discussion on the MT4x4 slider.

@2023chickentaco, yes, all new 4D sliders, Sidewinders, or RRR Stepsliders have the new bolt-in design that has moved away from the U-bolts. Also, the pinchweld guard has been added to both. (BTW the U-bolts work great and we never had any issues off-road of them hanging down, but the new design allowed us to eliminate the rather costly custom US-made grade 8 U-bolts, and address the visual aspect of the slider mount being under the frame)

Metal-Tech 4x4 is 100% independent and family-owned. Not owned by a VC group. We build to answer to our customers, not shareholders.
