Well I have given up like Morimoto has given up on finding a resolution. I still get fast flash, again not as often, but also a lot of the times i don't get the ALARM BLINK either.. They don't seem to want to troubleshoot any more.. So I'm moving on,

I just put these on order and will try these out.. Anyone looking at these from FORM ?

I’m curious if anyone has any updated info from Morimoto on the compatibility issues with their tail lights on Broncos with factory halogen tails. Their website still specifically mentions they’re compatible with these Broncos, but I’m hesitant to trust that without some sort of confirmation.

I've not heard any updates. I'd recommend the Form Lighting over the Morimoto if you have the lower level factory tails. They are 15% off when you use coupon code JULY25 at checkout.

I live in LA so it doesn't really get too cold here. The hyperflash happened frequently during the winter when temp was around 50's...

Now that it's warmer, it hasn't happened to me in months.

Not sure if this happens due to voltage, temperature or both.

I still like them over the Form but probaby wouldn't recommend it.

I'd stay away, they strung me along for 8 months, then quit.. I love the Form Lightning ones i put in, NO issues at all.

before I posted here, I posted the question to the product page on Morimoto’s website. I just got a response, and I find it pretty interesting considering the feedback here. I’m definitely going to stay away at least until they can get their story straight.

Update: I've be emailing morimoto every month or so to see if there was any progress and to keep them aware of the issue. Here is the timeline of what i've been told so far.

Jan-19thRaised issue with Morimoto
Jan-27thMorimoto acknowledged the issue and working on a fix
Feb-4thNew resistors sent
Feb-8thNew resistors received which did not fix the issue
Feb-10thWas told no new fix is being developed for
at least several months
Mar-4thAsked for an update and was told
but as far as I know, they are not actively working on this issue at the moment.
Mar-18thAsked for an update and was told
I don't believe they are actively pursuing any further updates for that currently.
Mar-18thFollow up question of "Will they ever get back to this issue?" Response:
I really don't know, but yes, most likely. I brought this back to their attention when you last replied.
Apr-2ndRead a post here that they weren't going to fix the issue, so I followed up and got this response:
We are definitely going to fix it, there just isn't a specific timeline on that fix yet.
Apr-2ndAlso asked if a replacement would fix my issue and got
There's zero chance that a replacement set would help resolve your issue, unfortunately.
May-7thAsked for an update: (nothing changed)
July-7thAsked for an update: (nothing changed)
Aug-4thAsked to return these and was told to reach out to who I originally bought it from
Was denied a return since its been so long (understandable)
Aug-5thTold them that I cannot return them since I've been waiting for a fix, response was to have a replacement sent
Follow up question: Will this replacement fix my issue? Response:
Most likely yes. I haven't heard any complaints from any other owners in at least 3-4 months, and this is what I do literally all day everyday.
This contradicts Apr 2nd response
Aug-5thAsked what changed to make a replacement now fixed? Response:
I believe they are no longer working on a fix because we haven't had any more reports of the issue.
Aug-5thMy Response
You haven't heard much lately probably because one of these scenarios:
- customers got a refund in an acceptable amount of time
- or this issue happens less frequently in summer months
- or new customers were advised not to purchase until issue is fixed
- or removed the tail lights until a fix

Here is the last page of the forum post about it https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/new-morimoto-xb-tail-lights-now-available.99542/page-11

I purposely keep asking if there is a fix yet to try to help the progress moving, as, like I said, these are the best tail lights for the bronco in my opinion and don't want to give up on them.
Aug-5thThere response:
We have sold hundreds of sets of these, with very few complaints outside of the first 2 weeks of sales. We are not currently telling anyone to wait for a fix or anything like that. I can only assume that they are working for 99% of the customers who have installed these parts.
Aug-5thIssued a warranty claim and sent the faulty set back to Morimoto
Aug-20thReceived new taillights
Aug-21stInstalled new taillights
- Drove around a little and issue is NOT present

Time will tell if this issue comes up again, and I plan to keep raising the issue to them if it does. I hope this helps some
