Is anyone experiencing issues again with their tails, now that the colder air has started coming in?

Anyone have a pic of these resistors Morimoto designed with their lights?
They should have a heatsink on them and be rated for at least 50w if you plan of them lasting more than a couple of months

Not my photo. The bottom is the original one. The top is the updated one that was supposed to solve the issue. Plenty of heatsink.

Since the FORscan changes would be eliminating the alarm that the resistors are designed to prevent from tripping, I would assume you'd be fine. Just have to periodically check that all of your banks of LEDs are still functioning since you would no longer have a fault indicator.

I’ve been dealing with the hyper flash/driver side tail light brake/turn signal not working for a year now. It worked flawlessly in the summer but now that winters back it was doing it during cold mornings. Morimoto sent me some resistors that came in today (was told they are now 15 ohm instead of 10 ohm). Installed them and they didn’t work at all now where as my other resistors would work after about 5 mins and would work for the rest of the drive no problem. While trying to do self diagnosis I unplugged the resistor on the driver side and took a drive. Surprisingly the lights worked the entire time, no problem. I called them and the tech said that using the light with no resistor could be a viable option as long as it continues to work. Has anyone tried this? I don’t see why it wouldn’t continue to work as I’ve been told the RESISTOR being cold is what causes the hyper flash to begin with so with no resistor at all and no hyper flash there should be no hyper flash… right? let’s hope and see and would love to hear feedback if anyone has any!!

Correct, driver side lights working no problems without the resistor and it’s 37 degrees here in Ontario. I left the passenger as is since it’s never had an issue.

Interesting, Ill be receiving my new set from them this week, might try that if they don't work (not expecting them too work for very long).

On a side note, part of me doesn't want to do a work-around, and keep RMAing it until they fix it. Am I being a dick?

Honestly I agree, it also bugs me that every tech has a different answer and solution. It’s very confusing, especially because I think the Morimotos are the nicest lights for the Bronco especially with my Azure Grey color. I just hope this solves the problem and I don’t have to keep going back and forth with morimoto!!!

Update: installed new set on Wednesday, everything worked when I tested it, but first drive in 45 degree weather and hyper flash immediately and for the entire drive, no matter how long I held the turn signal on for.
Will be sending another email later after I get video of the issue.

Nov-26th	Installed 3rd replacement set
Nov-27th	Experienced hyper-flash
Nov-28th	Received this reply If the new set is having this issue again, I think we need to revisit the drawing board and have our engineers come up with a fix, because replacing the lights definitely isn't doing the trick. I'll relay this information to the engineering/R&D team and we'll get started on looking into other options for a permanent fix. This could take a few weeks to come up with a solution, but I'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
Nov-28th	Tried to ask for another replacement or money back, got this reply As mentioned in my previous reply, sending another replacement is not currently an option, as we now know that it will not fix the issue. If you are interested in a refund, you would need to reach out to the company that you originally purchased the parts from. Nov-28th	They asked if I was using the "updated" resistors, I said I'm using the resistors sent to me in the package of the most recent replacement, as I sent back the original ones and the replacement resistors on the initial warranty claim. and followed up with So these new resistors were not packaged with new tail lights? I assumed they were and the ones I installed recently were the updated ones. and received back I would assume that they do not have the updated resistors - but if you could check for me, that would be appreciated. Let me know what the ohm rating is on the resistors that are currently attached.
Dec-1st	They asked for the ohm rating on the resistors, and there was no print of that on the resistors, even sent photos of them that they asked for

Dec-8th	Got a reply saying they are going to try and find a set of the "updated" resistors to send me

Dec-19th	Got a reply asking for a good shipping address to send "the updated 15 ohm resistors"
Dec-19th	Asked again of these are different than the original "updated" resistors and got by this reply I really couldn't say to be honest, but these are the current resistors we are using to resolve this type of issue.

So at least they initial acknowledged that its an issue and would talk to the engineers about a permanent fix, but still have to wait for the old "updated resistors" to give them proof again that they also do not fix the issue.

Thanks for the updates. What a shit show. I really want taillights for the Bronco but not going to pull the trigger until Mori or Oracle definitively solves their issue.

They have promised to send me a new set when they get my defective set back. Then they quit responding at the point of sending a return label they promised. Also stated new set won't hyperflash and that issue has been long resolved. But they won't send the new set until they get the bad set back, the set they won't send the promised shipping label for.

I'd stay away from anything Morimoto.

I'm still waiting for my old "upgraded resistors" so at least they have been some what responsive with me, although I do send a lot of emails
