Rear fuzzy well liners

I noticed the 24-25’s have the fuzzy carpet rear wheel well liners. Anyone had an early release year and get into a newer notice any difference other than hard to clean. Killin time at dealer service really. Curious anyways.

Interesting observation. Can you share a picture of the rear felt liners? Likely was done to improve sound dampening. Anything unique about the trim that you can discern or is it on all MY'25's that are on the lot?

All models had it. Noticed on the Stroppe which had me check others

I hate most things with fuzz. Keep it slick and bare.

but I guess that was a move for sound deadening. Much rather have the bare plastic.

I can’t speak to compatibility, but I can show you what the catalog shows. It appears they were changed on builds on/after 7/15/24. However it does not give me a picture.

2021 to 7/15/24

After 7/15/24:

The little red-blue squares indicate a supersession, so for the newer numbers after 7/15/24:
R2DZ-54278B50-B is now the newest RH part.
And R2DZ-54278B51-B is the newest LH part.

Give me a little while and I’ll see if I can get a part number for a 25 to compare.

feedback, about 1/4-cen's worth:

My '25 Badlands Sas has fuzzy liners.
I have learned to hate mud because it takes me about 45 minutes to hose it out of the undercarriage enough to stop dropping on me when I'm under the Bronco, or stop dropping onto the garage floor over night as it dries.

Buuttt, I've not noticed any extra difficulty hosing off the fuzzy parts. I have no complaints, yet.

My 2024 Badlands was built in May of 2024 and has smooth plastic wheel well liners. But as @Ducati1098 said, the change over wasn’t until July.

I have been driving MB's and BMW's for the past 20 or so years. They have always had 'fuzzy' wheel well liners. If you think about it- throw a pebble or rock against a slab of hard plastic or a piece of thin ply carpet. Which one will make a louder sound? There's no comparison, the fuzz prevents the 'bang' sound a pebble or rock makes when hitting a solid object. Objectively it is a huge step forward in sound deadening. As far as fitment goes, I can't imagine they modified the attachment points on the sheetmetal for the new liners- I would imagine they are an easy retrofit (and probably very worth it).
