V8s are cool no doubt and there are plenty of classic and older broncos if one needs to have a v8. windsors, big blocks, etc. and aftermarket parts galore.

Enjoy the era of the turbos! Years ago I would have thought people were nuts if I heard we were getting twin turbo broncos!

455hp and 536tq in the 3.0l with a trip over to the parts department for a tuner. Those are insane numbers! Even the big block era of the bronco were only about 150hp and less than 300tq.

Don't know about you guys, but back in the day I owned a few 5.0 Fox Body mustangs with gears & bolt-ons and my tuned 2.7L Bronco is faster and makes more power than every single one of them. Does the Bronco sound as good? Hell no... but it's still a blast to drive and I can pretty much take it anywhere I want... I love trolling V8 guys on a daily. They hate on the Ecoboost exhaust note, so I make them listen to it as I pass them -lol
So true, it's hard to believe my Fox Body 5.0 made about 215hp. I love my 2.7, it is a blast to drive and I smile every time I drive it. I might wish I knew Braptors were going to be marked down $20k, but still very happy.

If FOMOCO reads this, I’m begging for the 5.0 Coyote as an option. And not some special edition, overpriced truck that the idiot dealers will markup. Just an option on all trim levels. This would make the perfect SUV and they would sell like crazy.

Keep the other engine offerings, but a true car guy knows there is no replacement for displacement. And not even from a speed standpoint, just a bigger engine that doesn’t have to rev as high to get the power needed to do work. Unfortunately, this topic is heavily rooted in politics, and all I’m gonna say is now is the time to get these out there. Anyway, just a simple plea to the powers that be, because if so, take my money.
Won't happen. They Coyote is a huge engine exterior dimension wise and an expensive one to produce. If e ever see a V8 Bronco, it will likely be a version of the truck 6.2L/7.3L Gas engines. Their compact size and inexpensive architecture plus tons of torque would be a great fit for the Bronco.

The 6.2 has been out of production for a while.
7.3 or the 6.8 v8 would be great.

what I find funny is everyone expects this to be a huge cost special edition. If it happened I’m sure it would be.
But configure an f150. The coyote is the base engine. XL trucks get cheap reliable NA power. Even the little 2.7 is a cost up.

Interesting, it's the Base engine on the XL and the 5.0 is a $2060 upcharge over the 2.7 that the base engine in the XLT (and $400 over the 3.5).

Go with a @ZFGracing custom tune. The 2.7L is a different animal and you can run E85 with the stock fuel system. I went back to the stock tune to take it in for warranty work and OMG it felt like a dog…custom tune is where it’s at.

Packaging. The 3.0 is extremely similar to the 2.7, while the 3.5 isn't.
Makes sense probably same mounts and everything. Still couldn't of been that much work to get one in there, is the 3.0 in the Braptor in anything else?

For a 3.5 they would've have to change quite a bit more to make it work compared to the 3.0
The 3.0 is currently in the Braptor, Raptor Ranger, Explorer ST, Aviator

It'd be far more than $10,000 for a V8 option. Ford would need to include a new PCM, exhaust, radiator, transmission, driveshaft, differential, rear axle, etc. The list goes on and on, not to mention new harnesses and wiring. Hell, new suspension would be needed to handle the extra weight of the engine.

If such a thing were conceivable, it would probably be the same price difference between the F150 Raptor and Raptor R, and would only be available to the flagship Braptor.

Nope, there's no hope.
I agree there's absolutely no hope, just a dream. You and I both have Wildtraks, so we're already pushing high MSRPs. I wouldn't expect a V8 to offered in a Big Bend for sub $50k. But a $70-80k MSRP would be appealing. I already have the Hoss 3.0 suspension, but you're right a lot of changes have to happen and I assume they didn't design the engine bay and all accessory components around fitting a hypothetical engine in the bay. I want the poor man's Bronco DR.

This reminds me of the film stock/projection lovers who just couldn't grip that digital cameras and projection were going to nearly completely displace film because of the many benefits of a digital medium, toolchain and distribution. I guess there will always be people who want big NA engines just because (of the sound...), but I really doubt Ford cares that much.

My friends brand new F150 5.0 lasted a whole 2500 miles before it blew up... its all just luck of the draw these days. i will say the eco boosts seem to have more frequent problems. But i wonder if that's because they they put them in everything. The mustang and f150 are the only vehicles with the 5.0 as to where the 2.3 and 2.7 are in 3-4 different vehicles.
Well my 2011 F150 V8 runs great. So does 4.6 in my 2006 Mustang. Then again the 351 in my 70 Mach 1 is only 55 years old so the jury is still out on its ability to last.

If everyone that claimed they'd purchase a V8 Bronco could afford to buy one, Ford would make them.
With an upgrade price on F150 of $2k over the 2.7, on a $50K vehicle, who couldn't afford one? Guys drop that on a set of rims or new rubber, not much more than adding the mid package, heck guys drop $800 on different headlights. It's not like it would need to be a $5k upcharge.

V8s were more for Commando/Predator times. It feels like the Running Man era has about come to a close. They want to have us in Johnny cabs like Total Recall. The Terminators will be here soon to destroy it all.
5 Arnold references in one response, impressive lol.

To the topic at hand. Don't get me wrong, I love V8s and love the coyote. But the Coyote IMO is much better suited to Mustang duty than the Bronco. It's limited experience but everyone I know that has had multiple F-150s and uses them for truck stuff vastly prefers the ecoboosts over the 5.0 in their trucks.
