Do you have a security enclosure for your cargo area?

Which storage shelf system did you install?

I don't want to have to remove all my gear from the cargo area anytime I go out with the hardtop off. I'm looking into a security enclosure to keep my stuff hidden and somewhat protected. Do they rattle? Anyone have feedback on the pros and cons of these security enclosures?

I really like this one from RPM. I can't find it anywhere else and normally RPM is just the generic rebrand / unbrand products from China. I like how it leaves the side panels accessible and doesnt block (likely doesnt) the access to remove the softtop bolts. But shipping was a killer. The $300 is ok but it's dang near $400 delivered and you know it's not high quality in the first place.

I've got the Ford OEM one, I find it effective. You can no longer have a pass thru to transport long items though, so if that's important to you don't go that route.

I'll add the Ford OEM to the poll, but I believe some if not all of the others I posted do have pass-thru with locking mechanism.

The Tuffy enclosure is the same as the Ford OEM enclosure. (Just in case someone bought it from Tuffy rather than Ford.)

I had the Tuffy one. sold it and went with the Slipstream.
It is pricey.
But for actual security and robustness, it's leagues better.
No rattles.
I like the fact the lid comes completely off with the turn of a few thumb brackets vs. having to unbolt and then line back up and re-bolt for the Tuffy/Ford one.
For me it is better all around for MY uses.
However the Ford/Tuffy one does the job and is enough security for the cargo hold.
As long as you don't have to carry anything taller than the space it provides.
I can't speak to the other options, as I have not tried them nor have seen any in person to give an assessment of.

Hey, I saw this thread and thought I’d share a thread from one of our customers who installed the EZ4x4 Bronco Security Trunk in their rig. It’s been a game-changer for keeping things secure in the cargo area. Here’s a review they shared:

"I’ve been using the EZ4x4 Bronco Security Trunk for a few months now, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s sturdy, easy to install, and really helps keep my gear safe while I’m out on the trails. Plus, it folds away when I don’t need it, which is a nice bonus!"

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone looking for a security solution! I'm also happy to answer any questions or concerns!

I do like the ability to fold it away. And the price point is better than the Slipstream. Does it rattle?

No complaints so far or during our own testing, it was designed with that in mind because we've heard complaints about competitors before.

The folding feature is what really makes it stand out from the rest. It allows you to use it as a secure cargo area and gives you the flexibility to fold it out of the way when hauling larger items in the back.

If you’ve got any promo codes, I’ll cut my research now and place an order!

A few more questions:

Can it stay on whether hardtop is on or off? (I.e. I don’t need to worry about the enclosure once I’ve installed it and don’t need to remove or adjust when taking hardtop off/on?).

Also, how do I pass the electrical and wiper harness down to the retaining clip on the cargo sidewall?

When placing an order, it makes me check a box saying I realize this is a pre-order. When will these be available?

Currently have a Slipstream but I’m seriously considering the EZ4x4 trunk.

The Slipstresm is okay but seriously over priced for what it is. The frame on the back wall is designed weird in that whith just the support frame in place without the wall, it sits way above the rise in the floor when the rear seats are folded so makes it worse.

I bought the spinner clips for that lock the top in place and that makes a huge difference in removal of the top. The Slipstream is heavy duty for sure.

I don’t think the Ford slide out tailgate will work with the slipstream though so I’m thinking of dumping it for the EZ4x4 since they are looking into making a compatible slide out.
