Added the Rough Country High Winch mount, Smittybilt winch and Turn Offroad bull bar. Happy with the install and hoping I don't have to use the winch on a self recovery!

A few learning things at least for me...

First long day started with a lot of modification. First up with the SuperWinch control box relocation. Works great but had to drill out bolt pattern for Smittybilt control box and ended up having to chop some of the bracket arm off with a chop saw to let the box set flat.

No pictures, but added the LoD Black-O.P. Front Bumper Frame Tie In Brackets. Turns out that you have to cut off the "ears" off the bottom of the frame brackets. They don't fit with the skid plate on the Badlands.

Added the power relay and tied that in to Aux 4 to control power to the wince.

Finished the install with the Turn Offroad Bull Bar. This replaced a DV8 bull bar that would not work with the Rough Country mount.

Happy with the install and now ready to head out on the Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Death Valley, Southern Utah trip in April.
Can you take a top down and side angle picture? Curious how much clearance there is between the bar and the winch to see if it'll fit around the HF apex

That is awesome. I need one of those.
I know it’s not a unique product, but pleasantly surprised at its sturdiness. Not as simple to operate as the TopLift, but this cost a few hundred less, is much more compact when not in use, and seems to tuck in a bit closer to the front end/hood when in use.

My main β€œcomplaint” is that I waited so long to buy something like this. I had considered a ceiling mounted solution, but with my garage’s sloped roof and low hanging cross beams it was going to be a bigger challenge than I cared for. Also, I do have park the truck a bit further back in the garage so I can leave some walkway in front (which means no easy access to the trunk unless I open the garage door).

I've been thinking about doing this very thing with my engine hoist! Thanks for the example.
I found it a while ago and saved it so I can use it to build mine and save myself a grand. 😁

I went out in the desert and played King of The Hill on this 75 ft tall one where it looks like a lot of folks play. Put the truck in 4L and engaged the front and rear lockers. The V6 climbed right up the 21 degree slope like it was child's play...LOL.

You don't need lockers especially the front for such a hill climb. That front locker has it's own caveats. It should be used sparingly and only when needed.

Fully installed my EBay knockoff Chyna modular bumper and wired in some fogs. Wouldn’t recommend the bumper, buts it’s on there now.

Side note - if you are around the Atlanta area and want a M&R 40” light bar for the capable bumper / mounts, I got one $50. For now, I also got a capable bumper with fogs / no wiring harness ($150).

@kevin.gt here you go.

Measuring from just below the grill letters to the back edge of the bar is around 7 1/4". May be a little more but not much.

And the side views. A little harder to get a measurement but from the bumper to the bottom of the horizontal part of the bull bar is around 5 1/2".

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this fit on the Smittybilt winch.
