Cost mainly, and to maintain OEM bumper and looks.I guess the only question that I have is for folks aspiring for or already running 37”+ why not just run a swing gate carrier setup?
it's a valid question, but mainly $ and avoiding accessory overkill (do we know how to do that on B6G??). Having a 37" spare, to get the Raptor OEM bracket and hinges for ~$270 is a no-brainer, to me at least. I haven't really researched dedicated tire swing out carriers, but they all have to have an integrated bumper I think, probably no less than $1,200 for any of those options. Seems like overkill just to support a tire. Of note, I'm not going to carry any extra stuff on the back, I have Trailrax + pak rax, so already have a method of carrying gas cans, etc.I guess the only question that I have is for folks aspiring for or already running 37”+ why not just run a swing gate carrier setup?
Did you use a drill or by hand?Using the thread chaser on my stubborn bolt hole worked fine.
I got a cheap kit off amazon:

The M8x1.25 is what I used.
Still need to put the bronco on it.

https://buckleupoffroad.com/product...bronco-w-buor-braptor-spare-tire-reinforcmentI noticed that on the exoskeleton, the middle "hole" of the hinge mounts are noted as accessory ready, and have incons for flags, cameras, or lights. Does anyone know of accessories that fit, such as a flag mount attached to the upper and lower locations?![]()
I would be hesitant of this design. A single bolt in the upper and lower hinges don’t seem strong enough. I suspect this is why other options utilize the hinge bolts also.https://buckleupoffroad.com/product...bronco-w-buor-braptor-spare-tire-reinforcment
This is the only thing I've seen so far. Other's that say they 'use the accessory mount' actually replace the outer bolts.
There certainly appear to more "sturdy" options than the the buckle up device. I've noticed Turn Offroad has two variant flag mounts, both of which have only an upper and lower bolted attachment, one is for slow speeds, one states it can hold a flag at highway speeds. But it's not holding a heavy object.I would be hesitant of this design. A single bolt in the upper and lower hinges don’t seem strong enough. I suspect this is why other options utilize the hinge bolts also.
Any true & honest feedback of this support? Not promoter garbage.
Okay so update. I called back to San Tan Ford (Gilbet, AZ) today and he said they're still not in the system; showing up not available. So the order he said with my name on it is... perpetually impending? So... man I want it for that price but I can't wait forever.i mean i did that yesterday but. just call your dealer see what they say. He said it was unknown if they had any in the warehouse because it was even hard for him to find inventory in their system. "maybe because it's too new or their system is having issues"
Mine just popped out. There's two little nubs that go in the holes on the hinge.Well body shop forgot to paint one hinge so I’m waiting for that to finish. But I got one hinge back. I can’t wait to get them on!
btw for those of you that install this already how do the rubber bumpers remove and reinstall in the new hinges?
