same boat man. I was about to pull trigger on Turn Offroad's or IAG's and saw this one. Going to run this (if I can get my hands on one) and see how it goes. Less than half the price so... worth a shot.
I’ve had 37’s on for over a year, with no tailgate reinforcement on my 22’ Badlands SAS, never heard any noise or issues. To get essentially a Raptor OEM product that was designed explicitly for 37’s, and at half the price of TOR, seems like a no-brainer to me.

My order still says “processing”, (feels like 2021 again waiting for Bronco orders!) but I expect I’ll be happy with this purchase, even though it’s like insurance, I’ll never know if it did anything in reality, just peace of mind I guess that my tailgate won’t fall off 😂

I'm interested but think I will wait and see some posted results and reviews.

What is normal? Saw a Matt’s Recovery video awhile back where a guy trashed his tailgate because of picking a bad line and sending it when Matt told him not to do exactly that.

Think of it like your knee. All is good under normal operations and with normal weight. However, if you cut hard trying to juke, or someone or something hits your knee and causes it to move in an undesigned motion and things go ouch.
Recently tore my MCL playing hockey. Can confirm this analogy.

Just to be clear, this is a metal plate with a plastic cover?

Not necessary. Unless maybe you're planning to thrash the vehicle off-road, hang stuff or have people climbing on or otherwise stressing the rear door. Has anyone heard of rear door failures under normal loading?
That is what I figured. Ford had to make it adequate to handle normal use at least. I am not in love with the Raptor rear carrier brace look myself. If guys have larger tires and it gives them piece of mind to have something beefier then that is fine.
I would be using the Ford OEM towing channel if I ever put a rear cargo cage, trailer etc on.

That's what another forum member indicated. If steel then I'm wondering if I can weld something onto it at some point. I wouldn't be able to do that easily if having to remove plastic costing or if aluminum.

Oddly the aftermarket clones of this plate are billed as aluminum.

^ Agree. Peace of mind for me. My 35" Method 315 wheels and Falken Wildpeak AT4W tire combo weighs in about 102 lbs which is right about what the Braptor wheel/tires weigh. That's 15.5lbs more that stock Sasquatch wheels.

I tore mine walking. Fun times fer shur!
Holy shit!

I think my rear bumper install got me, lol. Not really sure what I did. The bumper really wasn’t bad but I ran wires through the frame and tied into the aux switches. Also might have gotten an honorary masters degree in zip tying cables while on my back on the garage floor.

When I came in that night my knee was hurting but figured I was being a wuss. For the past 3 weeks it’s been kicking my ass. I’ve been elevating, bracing, putting lidocaine patches on it and eating ibuprofen like it’s candy. These past 3 days it’s improved.

Doc told me about 10 years ago my knee was bone on bone. So I’m avoiding his ass like the plague. Surgery hasn’t always worked well for me. Had a neck fusion and rotator cuff repair and still hurt a lot.

Remember, it’s good to have strength but your goal should be to make that wheel & tire combo as light as possible. Bigger diameter and increased weight creates other problems to solve.
