Door storage when off vehicle?

This spring/summer will be my first with the Bronco and the plan is to remove the top and doors completely and leave them off for an extended period. I'll get some of the door storage bags before then (the IAG ones look good) to keep the doors in, but I'm wondering what those of you who have left the doors off for extended periods do as far as storing the doors to keep them from getting damaged in any way.

Do you just prop them against the wall in your garage, do you hang them up in some way, do you have some sort of rack system you use to store them?

Looking for ideas of keeping them safe in my garage when off vehicle.

The storage bags should have some padding at the bottom (the Ford ones do anyway, so I'm assuming aftermarket ones do too). I just lean them up against the wall on the ground. Have done this 2 summers now with no problems.

I put the IAG door bags on before I ever attempt to remove them and then use their wall mounted bracket to keep the doors off the floor. I purchased my bracket mount from Broaddict but they are the same.

I have to correct this quote, their storage option is NOT the same as ours. While they copy many of our products, this product they copied an ETSY design along with others.

This was actually the first project I worked on when I started with IAG. Our door hanger includes soft mounting pads to protect the paint on your inner door jamb. Also, ours was designed to load the doors they same way you are removing them from the vehicle, because we care about your back and have less chance at damaging your door juggling it around. Oh and 100% manufactured in the USA

I have the toplift pro store a door cart and cover. We don't have a garage at our beach place so it works well. I take them off using the Ford Bags and store them in the bags next to my tube doors. If the weather is like last summer the doors would stay off from June until September. I have no issues with critters getting to them in the bags.

Not sure what you mean? It hangs on the hanger the same way as the vehicle, but with extra protection. It doesn't come near the brackets on the wall. And the mounting pads keep it from swinging into the wall.

A 1/2" or more IIRC. The edge guard is in case you miss the pins hanging it, that you don't scratch it. The door doesn't touch it in normal use.

Others have rigged up a door holder with PVC pipe and Pool Noodles. Look on YouTube. You can even mount this on a moving dolly so you can roll it around easily.

I didn`t expect that it would.
I just think (depending on size of person) that it has too much potential to bang the door into the wall and/or bracket for my liking,especially for a 2dr door.

The potential for damage is less than actually hanging it on the vehicle. Not trying to sell you on it, just providing facts. The optimal way to load it onto the hanger is about 45 degrees to the wall, then swing it parallel to the wall once its on the pins. The pins are more effective than the OE mounting on the vehicle. The lower is longer, and the upper is actually a pin instead of threading a bolt in after.

I just don't want anyone browsing this thread to think this misunderstanding of our products' use is actually a real concern. The process of hanging a door on the Bronco is not an easy one to do safely. On the other hand, our storage solution is much easier and safer.

I always place the protective bags over my doors before removing and use the grab handles on the bag to lift the door. The bags stay on the doors while on the wall hanger . I also have my hanger mounted on the wall a little lower than they are positioned on the Bronco so I do not have to lift them off the floor too high.
