Is there a max torque rating for the
8 bolts that are used to secure the rear part of the HT to the car?

It's listed in the user manual.

20 ±3 newton-metres. Around 15 lb-ft.

Fun fact: The torque spec in the user manual doesn't match the torque spec in the service manual. So.... coin flip it?

So doing it by hand that what does that equate to…I have no idea. Sure hope I didn’t reinstall my hard too too tightly torqued.

They only need to be snug, not necessarily tight. A lot of people over tighten them

Thanks - I’ll loosen them a bit. Is that the same for the top bracket that secures it to the roll bar?

One-quarter of a uggah duggah?

Not that tight, honestly. I'd probably describe it as only slightly tighter than finger tight while using a Torx socket—especially if you follow the service manual torque spec @Ducati1098 posted (9 lb-ft).

Depends if you follow the user manual or service manual, but yeah.. it's the same.

Half a face grimace. A full face grimace is way too tight 😖

Bolts replaced with knobs so torque values become irrelevant and common sense prevails.

Thanks guys, I definitely need to back mine off then. Switched out the ST for the HT for winter over the weekend with the cordless hammer drill. Came to me yesterday that perhaps that was too much torque.

Also, anyone else have extra bolts? I have the 13MM silver bolts in my glove box bag (6 of them), but everything else seems like torxs. When I took off the ST, they too were torxs on the rear mount and not the bolts. They're both the same MM on thread/depth, so I just used the Torx bolts and left the silver bolts in the bag. Not sure what they're for or why I have them. There were exactly enough Torx bolts to mount the HT (including along the roll cage up top), 12 bolts total. But only have 6 of the silver bolts? It's a mystery I guess..

I'm surprised that there has been no mention of the torque setting the factory used to apply them the first time. Tried to remove them for the first time and it was nearly impossible. Gave up after I almost stripped one of the torx bolts trying to get it off. Any ideas on what I should do?
