So, might be my first problem, curious if anyone else. The very last thing my Bronco does when turning if off, is make a squeak noise from the front. When shut the engine down, it doesn’t really do it, but when the running lights turn off after I’ve exited the car, it does it. Never had that happen before on a car!

Also curious of grease/lubrication points in the breaking system, if any? As it’s getting cold and dry out, I am hearing some creaking in the brakes, but not the typical pads/rotors squeaks, but rather more mechanical like a dry cable in the system (knowing there probably aren’t any cables, hydraulic).

Thanks all!

Squeak like a mouse? 😁🐁

When you shut down, is it like a squeal, that lasts 2 seconds with rising pitch? That would sound like a normal HVAC discharge. Other than that, I haven’t heard any squeak when shutting down (2.7L). This is my first turbo engine so I’m not familiar with what kind of sounds they might make.

Actually, “mouse” is a better way to describe it! It sounds like a mouse squeak!

You know when you can hear the car clicking as it turns itself fully off, that’s when it does it.

I would say a fan belt-ish type of noise, but the engine isn’t running when it does it, which is weird. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago after we had a long period of rain (nearly 10 days worth), and continues to do it now as it gets colder outside and the humidity levels drop. Just sounds like something needs a little shot of WD40 somewhere, but can’t seem to figure out where under the hood.

Oops, just noticed I have this under the 2.3 section (fat fingers / old eyes). I have the 2.7, though not sure that really matters?

I have this sound as well. I always thought it was the active radiator shutters opening when I turn the Bronco off. I know they close at highway speeds and I live off of a highway so I always figured that was the sound.
