My first bronco got delivered with a half dollar size chip ding. Replaced with OEM after a few weeks, so far so good 1 1/2 years later.

Windshield cracks are not as ugly as those stupid hood deflectors.
I have an uninstalled hood deflector but haven't brought myself to install it. I have two cracks in my windshield, but after using the windshield repair stuff, they haven't spread (yet). I think I'm going to skip the hood deflector and just repair the windshield as needed and put off a new windshield as long as possible.

Had a Yukon as my daily for 8 years, no issues with windshield chips or breaks.

4500 miles into Bronco ownership, caught a rock from an oncoming vehicle, bounced off the hood, scratched paint down to the primer, and spidered the windshield. Fortunately, the next 6k have been uneventful.

Get the glass coverage. It's not a matter of if, it's when. When you drive something with the aerodynamics of a two story colonial, chips happen.

Recently went on a 2600 mile road trip, no chips or cracks. I attribute it to my awesomeness, but it might be my bug shield, but probably just dumb luck.

Got one bad chip, was looking into repair. Then a 1 foot crack from a second chip. Now there’s a 3rd and it split towards the camera.

Have a '23 with 18,000 miles. It currently has 2 cracks one that is 10 inches from the bottom full width and another that is 8" above the other on passenger side from the edge in maybe 2' long. Won't replace until it's in the driver's line of sight.

Hood deflectors do nothing. 24k, 8 chips (repaired) and one that cracked instantly.

This is getting out of hand. First off I don't tailgate people. The debris from on coming vehicles has been the cause of multiple broken windshields. I have owned a 22 Bronco 2dr Badlands and it had 3 windshields crack in a period of 2 years. I was able to trade that Bronco in and order a 24 Everglades. I have had the Everglades since April 24. I was on my way to the dump and an on coming harvest truck had some grain come off the top of it. I heard something hit the windshield but the impact was not very loud. About 5 miles later a crack appeared from the top on the passenger side. Has anyone had better luck with a windshield than is not a factory one? At almost $1k a windshield, that adds up quick.

Side not. I spent 21 years in the military and in that time I only had to replace 1 windshield in my vehicles.

Thanks
Brian
I have over 62K miles. On road, off road, long trips, etc... I am still on my original windshield...

I've had my Bronco for about 2 1/2 years now and I'm on windshield number 2 with only about 18K on it. I don't drive it that much-I was going into work 2 days a week till July and been working from home since they due to building issues.

First one happened in the first couple of weeks having it-my wife caught a rock with the windshield and the second one was this past July-I had a small chip that winded up cracking all the way across with in 48 hours-I was trying to get a repair kit and it cracked before I could do anything.

A year and a half into mine just under 12K miles, and not even a chip. I put a wind deflector on mine the second day I owned it. I had a 14 JKU and by the time I got home from the dealer it had a chip in the windshield.
A wind deflector? On the hood?
