Does anyone actually use the “Scheduled remote starts” on the Ford Pass App? Why is this even an option since the (immediate) “start option” is right there? Sounds like an accidental carbon monoxide poisoning issue waiting to happen for those that use a garage.

Or, a damned handy thing to have for those who have a regular schedule and who park their cars not near the house. Cold/snowy mornings, it comes in handy. And I'm SHOCKED by how many homeowners with garages, attached or not, don't use the garages for parking cars.

Ford has to check the boxes to fill the sell sheets.

I just wish they'd let me remote start my manual Bronco... it's got a frigging gear position indicator, just don't crank unless it's in neutral, seems like it would be simple enough :/
Agreed!

How would carbon monoxide make a difference whether you open the app the start it or have it start at a set time? It’s still going to run for the same amount of time.

When I’m getting ready for work in the morning, why would I bother opening the app to start it when it will just automatically start at the same time every morning instead? One less thing I need to worry about doing 🤷‍♂️

I work in a factory where cell phones aren't allowed, except in an isolated break-room (so basically no access to your phone when you'd want to start it). So, while I've never used it, it certainly sounds convenient.

I use mine in the summer when its hot and winter when its cold to get it up to a comfortable temp. By doing it on auto I dont have to think about it and where its parked I can hear it start inside my house. When Im getting ready for work thats like an alarm that says I have 15min to get moving or Im gonna be late for work.

No thanks, I'd rather walk ;)
yes, yes you would!

you know, I watched the video of replacing the 8 inch infotainment screen with the 12 inch. It's involved but not difficult--but you do have to remove the passenger airbag from the original factory dashboard and install it on the replacement dashboard.

Yes, I know that the replacement dashboard is in fact a Ford OEM part. Nonethelelss, the FIRST thing I thought of was that if something bad happened, all the lawyers will find that you did that and tear into it. Within minutes of discovering that replacement, any failure of the airbag--or any injury at all--will be 100% on you for having been the last person to touch it. "It's no longer what the factory delivered." That will end any and all discussion.

Is it sick that that was the first thing I thought of when I saw him start to tear that airbag out? Some would say yes. But it's the world we live in...

Obviously, I think this is a stupid option. But in reality, how hard is stepping on the brake and pressing the start button????? I’m just wondering what idiot millennial thought scheduled launches would be a good idea. That’s about as dumb as scheduling window roll downs or horn honks on the hour to judge time. NOT to mention the option of failure during the constant software updates.

Maybe its not for you then. There are people that don't park in a garage, live in apartments, etc. that might find it useful.

I will usually remote start mine as i'm walking out the door or as I am walking up, especially on hotter days. The reason is that it takes about 30 seconds for the climate system to boot up and start the fan up and actually start cooling things down. Its also nice to have the a/c starting to cool things down while i'm strapping my kid into his car seat.

I have thought about doing the scheduled starts but my mornings leaving for work and evenings leaving work aren't consistent enough to justify it.

Jesus dude, who pissed in your cheerios? Its a feature, like anything else convenient on a vehicle. Just because you're not going to use it doesnt mean it won't come in handy for other people.

I had a 4Runner prior and had to add remote start to warm it up in the morning before work during the winter. Scheduling would have been great as I left everyday same time. Now I work remote so dont really need it. But would have loved to use that option.
