Yeah, that'll be my plan too. I don't think these will be many thousands of dollars of "better", maybe I'm wrong? I have lots of demands on my budget and I need to use components until they are fairly worn out before swapping.
When spending, my cheapskate self generally goes by the 80/20 rule. Getting to 80% or so performance can usually be done on a reasonable cost increase curve.

But chasing that last 20% perf increase comes for an increasingly steep price. Meaning a lot more money for relatively less perf gain.

So yeah, I wonder how much better for the many thousands.

The "best" Bronco suspension is the one engineered by Ford engineers.
Taking this logic to its logical conclusion

The best headlights are engineered by Ford

The best interior lights are engineered by Ford

The best hardtop is engineered by Ford

The best tires are engineered by Ford

The best transmission pan skid is that engineered by Ford

The best rear AC vents are engineered by Ford...

I can keep going for a while but the above should be enough to illustrate the inaccuracy of the quoted statement.

In a small way my modest BD contributed to the release of the 8112s. About a year ago Bilstein borrowed it for a week to do fitment tests of the 8112.

But both price and performance are way outside my needs. One noteworthy comment in the video is that they seem to see low volumes for their Bronco offerings.

I didn’t watch it to be honest when I read the price.
I don’t disagree that you get what you pay for (I said this within keeping for years) but after waiting four years for pricing to approach jeep part prices it’s difficult to justify some of this stuff and sad when people who decide they want to are now looking to recoup cost of upgrading in their resale lately. I would love to see the big 3 companies at least get within $1000 of jeep shocks and coil over Prices. I get all the r&d and making sales that compare but oof

Did you gain any travel from the 6112's compared the BL shocks? Or were you looking for a different shock setup?
I imagine I have, I did not measure them up yet, but it definitely rides higher and feels like an improvement on handling. They look massive compared to the stock yellow bilsteins. On the washboard roads getting into my cottage they are going to be so much better.

The video of the dude in his garage removing a clutch pilot bushing with a slice of bread and a sledge hammer was far more interesting.

6100s bilsteins have similar compressed and extended lengths (travel) to stock shocks. The difference is they are digressive, larger diameter, and allow for adjustable ride height through spring preload adjustment. There are numerous pros and cons depending on use case.

Good info, thanks. What style shocks are the Bilstein escv? I read those are digressive.

it is probably unusual for bilstein shocks to not be digressive. But i don’t have any experience with the yellow SAS oem bilsteins to say for sure. I currently have the 6100s and they are most definitely digressive. You can feel a penny on the road.

Perhaps @Snacktime knows.

Damn, looks like an amazing product but these guys are crap. The guy on the left seemed the most grounded and articulate about what was sitting in front of him. The guy on the right was a bit of a douche. Homie in the middle should've been invisible.

In my view, speaking as a career truck engineer, my statement on who engineers the best Bronco suspension is correct. No one does it better than the Ford engineers, and the success of the Bronco is testimony to that.
However, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion.
That said, please skip over my posts going forward.
