Please don't buy from Extreme Terrain

Hey all,

I bought open box special from Extreme Terrian for these Morimoto lights.

Morimoto XRGB LED Headlights

OK It was open box, rep said just some scratches. I was cool with that. I got the lights and installed them about 2 weeks later. About 3 weeks in I found that the passenger side light round LED light now a has discoloration spot, and it has been 1 week too long to return. They said they were willing to give me a 15% discount on a new pair. That would make the pair cost about $1,800 after shipping.

I guess just a heads up, so long Extreme Terrain for my use.

Devil’s advocate here - so you bought an open box item from them and either didn’t know the return policy or didn’t take it into account when waiting so long to install them / check them.. and now you’re mad at them because they won’t give you your money back after discovering an issue? Sounds like maybe I’d reach out to Morimoto

You probably should’ve done some research on the product before buying it. Lots and lots of threads on here about those lights having problems. Buying an open box special was just a disaster waiting to happen.
I see this as Morimoto’s fault for making a poor product, not Extreme Terrain.

Yeah maybe, but they did work fine. It is a product defect, and they should support the products they sell. Also if you look at the delivery date that is a week later, they don't account for, that.

I’m sure they do, when they’re sold new with a warranty.

I've purchased numerous times from Extreme Terrain, all the way back to my Jeep days, and never had an issue them..

You purchased lights with known issues and even worse, an open box (probably a return).

They shouldn't sell them then. It is just like stealing, with the week for shipping, they are just about in return time. Instead of taking the hit, they screwed me. It is not ok in my book.

Sounds like you need to warranty them through Morimoto.

Don't know, the OP would need to call or email them and ask. I assume Morimoto would ask for proof of purchase. Not sure why they would not cover an open box item sold by an authorized retailer but maybe they don't / won't..

Open box through a drop shipper yeah that's asking for issues. All risk IMO.
